WW2 On National Service Norton Grinding Wheel Co Ltd Badge, brass and enamel lapel badge with On National Service to the centre and company details around the edge. Reverse stamped 557 and with Thomas Fattorini makers mark. Badge has pin fitting but the catch is missing. Section of enamel is missing from the badge.
1938 Corporation City of London 1st Anti-Aircraft Division TA Medal, fine quality gilded hallmarked silver and enamel medal with large anti-aircraft gun above circlet with enamel centre and arms of the corporation of London, below a scroll with enamel details. White ribbon with central red strip and gilded enamel top brooch bar with “2 DEC 1938” within. Reverse of the medal has hallmarks for Birmingham,1938. Medal remains in very good condition.
WW2 German SS Officers Chained Dress Dagger, black ebony handle having inserted eagle and enamel SS runes. Scabbard is fitted with hanging chains with SS acceptance stamp to the reverse. Blade etched with the motto “Meine Ehre Heist Treue” and early style Carl Eickhorn trade mark to the base. We are of the opinion that this dagger has been constructed in the post war years with the use of some original and some reproduction parts. Probably produced in Eastern Europe in the late 1990’s. Ideal as a space filler for a collector. We advise all clients to view the item and make sure they are satisfied with what they are buying. Item is sold not subject to return.
WW2 Women’s Home Defence Badge, brass and enamel shield type badge with the centre having crossed rifles and a pistol, WHD within the crossed rifles. Reverse has pin back fitting and makers mark for Colling London. Womens Home Defence League was formed in 1941 by Dr Edith Summerskill, Labour MP for Fulham West London. Recruits were trained in basic weapons handling. The unit was disbanded in 1944.
WW2 Home Front Auxiliary Bomb Disposal Unit Enamel Lapel Badge, being a fine gilt and enamel lapel badge worn by members of the unit from a Royal Ordnance Factory (R.O.F). Badge has lapel fitting to the reverse. One very small area of enamel scuffing between the I and S of DISPOSAL. “Doing their Bit – Home Front Lapel Badges 1939-1945” by Jon Mills, page 108 gives full details of this unit and page 111 has this actual badge illustrated.
Star & Garter Richmond VAD Cased Medal, brass and enamel medal engraved to the reverse “MRS VIOLET ELLEN HAMPTON V.A.D 16TH OCTOBER 1923 SEPTEMBER 1924”. Top is stamped J R GAUNT, LONDON. Housed in a fitted case. The Royal Star and Garter Home, Richmond on Richmond Hill, in Richmond, London was built between 1921 and 1924 to a design by Sir Edwin Cooper, based on a 1915 plan by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, to provide accommodation and nursing facilities for 180 seriously injured servicemen.
Selection of Eastern European Communist Medals consisting of Bulgaria Order of 9th September enamel medal complete with original case, Bulgaria Order of Peoples Freedom complete with the original case, Czechoslovakia Military Order of Freedom medal, Poland Order of the Red Flag (centre loose). Also accompanied by a Royal Bahamas Defence Force Overseas Campaign medal. (5 items)

Walmer Canadian War Hospital 1915-1918 Hallmark Silver and Enamel Lapel Badge, fine quality gilded silver and enamel lapel badge with white maple leaf to the centre of a blue circlet with scroll below. Reverse has brooch pin fitting and is engraved to the top “ETHEL SNOW”. Silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1918 and J R Gaunt & Son makers mark. One small area of enamel damage but otherwise very nice example.
WW2 American Field Service Gilt and Enamel Badge, fine example with the American eagle behind a stars and stripes shield with scroll in white enamel having AMERICAN FIELD SERVICE within. Badge has original pin and catch fixing on the reverse. Worn as a collar badge or on overseas / garrison caps.
