A mixed group of bronze items comprising: a domed plaque with polychrome enamel and gilding; three small cruciform pendants; a rectangular pendant with scroll panel; a plaque from a cruciform reliquary; a heart-shaped pendant with one hatched face, cross to the reverse; an unidentified coin or token. 32 grams total, 12-39mm (1/2 - 1 1/2). Property of an American collector; acquired 1980-2000. [8, No Reserve] Fine condition.
2nd century AD. A cast plate brooch of a bird with wings spread, head and neck modelled in the round; panels for enamel to the wings and tail, loop behind the tail; pin-lugs, pin and catchplate to the reverse. 4.82 grams, 36mm (1 1/2). Ex Cornwall, UK, collection. Cf. Hattatt, R. Iron Age and Roman Brooches, Oxford, 1985, item 625. [No Reserve] Fine condition; tips of wings absent.
2nd-4th century AD. A mixed group of bronze brooches comprising: two discoid plate brooches each with concentric cells to accept enamel, pin and catchplate to the reverse; a small crossbow brooch with deep bow and three onion-shaped lobes. 47 grams total, 33-57mm (1 1/4 - 2 1/4). Property of a London collector, acquired before 1980. [3, No Reserve] Fine condition.

A cast footplate from an Estonian 'symmetrical fibula', D-shaped in section with textured projecting collar and trefoil finial; openwork detail, ring-and-dot motif and three discoid panels filled with red enamel; solder and part of catchplate to the reverse. 16 grams, 59mm (2 1/4). Ansbach lidded bowl or sucrier circa 1770 painted with landscapes, blue 'A' mark to base, also a Meissen sucrier painted with flora on a gilt ground, crossed swords mark to base, (4) 11cm high Condition report: The Ansbach sucrier has flaking to the enamel as well as a small rim chip. The Meissen sucrier has two chips to the cover, one to the rim as well as a restuck finial with losses.
Scalextric James Bond pair of Cars, white Aston Martin DB4 with bullet proof shield, sunroof and bandit, the black Mercedes 190SL with flip mechanism (2) Condition report: Flip up, bandit eject and bullet shield work correctly. Slight wear to the enamel, staining above rear wheel arch on the Aston. The Mercedes lacks number plates. Motors not checked.
French gilt bronze and black marble sculptural mantel clock of figures from the Medici Chapel, cast by Barbedienne, inset medallion of Achille Collas Reduction Mecanique, after Michelangelo, the central figure of Lorenzo, Duke of Urbino, in classical garb, height 53cm, flanked by Night and Day from Guiliano's tomb, length 47cm, the white enamel Roman dial with a lapis lazuli centre, eight-day movement striking the half on a bell, overall length 126cm. *See clocks and watches proviso. Condition report: the various parts of the arrangement are not fixed together and some architectural elements may be missing, The mis-match of the central figure and the side figures may indicate that this clock was once one of a pair that have been re-assembled incorrectly. The movement winds, ticks and strikes the half but loses step with the hour count; the dial enamel is crazed, the marble chipped on the edges, the ormolu is slightly rubbed. Note that the movement is fully enclosed, there isn't a rear opening. The black marble elements have general edge chips and scratches. Main figure: 20kg; side figures: 12.5kg and 10kg; central block: 13.5kg; side slabs:37kg combined All clocks and watches are sold without warranty. An enamel, gold, silver gilt and amethyst desk seal, unmarked, probably Austrian, circa 1900, inventory no. 505675, the tapering cylindrical handle with white guilloche enamel between rose gold laurel borders and topped by a facet-cut amethyst, a silver gilt collar and cushion, the circular cornelian matrix engraved with a royal crown above an axe, 6cm (2 1/4in) high Provenance: Anonymous vendor, Sotheby's Billingshurst, 13th August 1997, lot 2195. The crown and axe possibly of Norwegian origin.
