Hall-marked with enamel Hants FA crest on the front and inscribed on the reverse. The crown is in gold and it comes with the original box. Southampton won both the Hampshire League and the Hampshire Cup in 1898-99 , so as the inscription states Hants FA "Senior |Tournament 1899", this medal seems sure to be a Southampton Medal. Good

A large and fine pair of Qianlong style (probably 19th century) Chinese cloisonné Bottle Vases, gilded interiors and the outset lip above a Ruyi head band and scrolling lotus and other foliage etc., each with a white band below the neck with four-leaved flower heads, green leaves etc., further over a main body decorated with larger peony and chrysanthemum, raised on short slightly spreading circular feet terminating in outset gilded plinth, 52cm high CONDITION REPORT: Vase 1 - Generally in good original condition with some very minor pieces of enamel away but nothing major, to the bottom of the predominantly white band just below the neck there appears to be a 1cm “bruise” that may well be original and commensurate with the firing etc., on close inspection there are some minor scratches to the surface of the cloisonné Vase and the gilded circular outset foot rim exhibits gilding wear, one further “bruise” is also to be found approx. 19cm up from the base on the main bulbous body and further minor small “bruises” are to be found on very close examination but nothing major. Vase 2 - Black marking to the top of the gilded lip which also has some minor indentations to the inside, the neck appears to be generally good with no major problems noted, the white band has a appox. two 1cm small “bruises” to the top of the band and these areas are below the inlaid gilded wire, the main body has some minor areas of enamel away but this looks like it could possibly be original to the firing. There is also some “bruising” noted to the leaf just underneath the white flower. Also some black vertical lines noted, (these do not appear to be cracks, once again some gilding away from outset circular foot. The Vase appears to be generally in good overall original condition with no “major” problems noted.
SIGNED AND DATED FINBERTON. 1887 A pine framed (later) late-19th century stained glass and enamelled panel in high Islamic style, the central early-style vase with Islamic script and lugs above stylised patterns of animals, scrolls etc., and a spreading circular foot from within emanates a profusion of varying coloured and different varieties of flowers etc., the border also finely enamelled in relief with stylised flower heads and turquoise-blue tendrils, together with one other matching smaller separate top panel (also pine framed), the larger enamel glass panel (to include frame) 180cm x 68cm, the smaller framed panel 37cm x 68cm (2) CONDITION REPORT: This has come from the provenance. This is in two parts, the larger panel has some damage and breakages, looking down from the top the second clear panel in where the flowers start there is a crack and a break, it looks like there is an old crack and repair where the lead has gone across it, one other panel is also cracked, and a cracked panel to the base. This is signed and dated at the left hand side at the top of the urn. We think the actual border with the flowers is in reasonable condition, we can't see any major breakages or problems with that border. Looking at the smaller panel which we assume would be the continuation of the top, this appears reasonable with one vertical blemish and possibly a small natural imperfection to the border approx. 1.5cm. Appears in good reasonable and genuine condition.
A 19th Century Chinese porcelain Bowl, turquoise interior glaze and the exterior decorated in enamels with Buddhist emblems to each side, raised on conforming slightly spreading octagonal foot, seal mark to underside, 18.5cm wide CONDITION REPORT: There is some scratching to the surface on the right hand side near the border beside the small yet to flower head, surface scratches to some of the surface cloisonné enamel. The edge of the dish has a minor kink in it and the back of the cloisonné dish does have some splits/hairlines to the cloisonné enamel work.
A fine pair of Chinese cloisonné enamel ovoid Vases and Covers, the finials as gilded Karashishi above domed covers and stylised Ruyi heads, the main bodies finely decorated with chrysanthemum above a lappet-style border, each approx. 13.5cm high (modern) CONDITION REPORT: In our opinion although they are very finely modelled, gilded and enamelled they are fairly modern, as such they appear to be in very good overall condition with no major problems noted.
An early-19th century period mahogany and brass inlaid eight-day Mantel Clock, the architectural-style pediment with three inverted brass finials above a white enamel dial with Roman numerals and London retailers mark, gadrooned lower base and raised on turned gilt metal feet, two gilt metal mask-and-ring handles flanking above lattice work, sound apertures, the gilded movement individually numbered 4832 (together with original corresponding numbered pendulum) and signed Japy Freres, striking on a bell, 25.5cm high
Brocard, Phillipe-Joseph (1831-1896), a magnificent glass pedestal Bowl, the slightly flaring top with gilded flowers and tendrils against a claret red enamel ground, the lower body similarly finely decorated with stylised scales headed with gilded flower heads above one further smaller red enamel and gilded band bordering a central Islamic style motif, raised upon a spreading circular glass for which is annotated in red enamel Brocard, Paris 1871 Eposition De Londres, 15cm high x 31cm diameter CONDITION REPORT: The Bowl has a very nice ring to it and is presented for sale in good original condition although there are several areas on the Bowl, under the foot, under the Bowl to the bottom centrally and on a small portion of the lip that exhibit what looks like old sticky sellotape marks which appear to disappear upon minor scratching with a nail, (not interfering with the enamels). Although the enamels and gilding are generally bright and clear there is some minor surface scratching to the inside of the Bowl and as such where the central decorative motif is positioned there is minor gilt rubbing etc., to be expected and commensurate with age. The Bowl appears generally in very good overall condition. Provenance: Eastern royal family.
A 19th Century French gilt brass cased repeater Carriage Clock with alarm mechanism, white enamel dial (small cracks to top left hand corner) with Roman Numerals and alarm dial, the gilded movement numbered 1055 and striking on two gongs, 12.5cm, with two keys CONDITION REPORT: The watch appears in generally very good overall original condition, the dial looks clean and unrepaired and although not tested fully the watch has been wound and continues to tick well.
A small Oriental style group to include a Knife with green hardstone handle (probably jade); a late-19th/early-20th Century circular Chinese silver and enamel Box and cover; a Japanese dome-topped Magnifying Glass; an Oriental style Treen Cover decorated with scripts and an unassociated octagonal brass Snuff Box (5)
A gentleman's 9-carat yellow gold cased open-faced Pocket Watch, white enamel dial with Roman numerals and signed 'J.W. Benson, London', the subsidiary seconds hand at the 6 o'clock position, original case CONDITION REPORT: Nothing major noted save for light scratching to the surface of the gold and also to the surface of the front of the glass commensurate with age. The watch has come privately and appears to be in good general overall original condition. Upon inspection under a glass there appears to be very minor chipping to the very edge of the glass where it is proud from the surface of the gold. The watch is ticking and appears to keep good time. Diameter of the enamel face is approx. 2.5cm, height to include the suspension ring is approx. 6.75cm. No engravings or polishing out. The dial measures at approx. 4.1cm is 9 carat gold Birmingham hallmarks to 1925
