Devastated, Nicholas wanted to cancel the Grand Ball scheduled for the same evening, but was dissuaded by the Duma against doing so. This decision proved very unpopular with the aggrieved families of those killed and was an important early public grievance, along with 'Bloody Sunday', which heralded the 1905 Revolution.Condition ReportChips to the edge of the rim.
