Third Reich 1st Pattern E-Boat badge; Order of the German Eagle: Volksturm armband collected by RAF serviceman Frank Maguire during his station at Buckberg 1945/46. Together with his small collection of privately taken photos of the Allied station, parades, bomb damage etc. Various personal artefacts including his whistle, ashtray (fashioned from melted down aluminium), bedside clock, etc. The 1st Pattern E-Boat mid war heavy alloy type, Schwerin stamped to verso, c/w correct Schwerin clasp and tunic retaining hook (gilding to wreath oxidised). The Order of the German Eagle being the 1st Class breast star in silver-gilt and enamels, with swords. Correct riveted type, pin stamped with .800 silver content mark to pin frontage. Damage to enamel end segments missing to lower arm, gilding rubbed. Volksturm armband of standard issue, cotton printed type and in good fresh condition

A DERBY PLATE boldly painted with three cherries on a twig and eight insects in bright enamels, the feather moulded rim picked out in rust enamel, 20cm diam, anchor in red-brown, c1765 Painted in the distinctive hand of an outside decorator whose work is seen occasionally on Derby porcelain of the early-mid 1760s, cf Winifred Williams Catalogue, 1973, plt 44. The plate centre sagged somewhat during firing resulting in the plate rocking when placed flat. The enamels scratched and worn, footrim chipped.

A REGENCY NEO CLASSICAL JAPANNED MANTEL TIMEPIECE BY THOMAS WEEKS the white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic chapters, giltmetal hands and later movement in gilt brass case with urn finial, the pedestal base of moulded concave form decorated in black and fawn and painted en grisaille with an oval cameo medallion and palmette border, on ogee feet, 25cm h Thomas Weeks was renowned for the mechanical curiosities exhibited at the eponymous Museum and adjoining shop he established in about 1897 at 3 & 4 Titchbourne Street, London. His collection was sold at auction after his death in 1834. The movement an inappropriate 20th c replacement, back edge of case slightly dented, decoration discoloured with age and flaking, one front corner of the base broken off and neatly restuck long ago. The enamel dial undamaged, the metal case retaining practically all of the original gilding. The decoration entirely unrestored

One of the fret slightly loose but not distorted, a little dusty and requires cleaning. Long in the present private ownership
