WW1 - WW2 British Medal group to 2 Lieut EE Hardy, Gordon Highlanders, later RNAS, later Squadron Leader RAF and a PoW in the Far East. An extensive group including much paperwork which contains his 1914-15 Star, War Medal and Victory Medal, (no ribbons) miniature medals of the same, ribbon bar, WW2 Miniatures bar of WW1 Trio, 1939-45 Star, Pacific Star, Defence and War Medal. RAF enamel Sweetheart wings, VR collar dogs x 3. Knitted Garments for the Royal Navy enamel badge. The paperwork covers his WW1 service with the RNAS and later WW2 paperwork including his RAF Malaya Pass (No 50) in celluloid cover with photo dated 1/4/41. Post war 1950's PoW renunion menus and photos, many of them signed, address books, etc.

THE FOLLOWING LOTS 400 TO 419 RELATE TO THE CAREER OF ENGLISH AMATEUR INTERNATIONAL AND OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST GORDON HOARE Gordon Rahere Hoare was an English amateur footballer who was a member of the Great Britain team that won the gold medal at the 1912 Summer Olympics. In domestic football, he played in the Football League for Woolwich Arsenal, Glossop and Fulham Hoare started out with junior sides such as West Norwood, Woolwich Polytechnic and Bromley before joining Woolwich Arsenal in 1907. He made his League debut in a First Division match against Sheffield Wednesday on 20 April 1908, the last day of the 1907-08 season. Although he played 11 League matches in 1908-09, scoring five goals, due to the lack of regular first-team football he moved to Glossop He returned to Woolwich Arsenal in December 1910. He scored six times in fourteen games for Arsenal in the 1910-11. Hoare was capped multiple times for the England amateur team. He was a member of the team that represented Great Britain at the 1912 Summer Olympics: he played all three matches as Great Britain won the gold medal in the football tournament. THE FOLLOWING LOTS 462 TO 468 RELATE TO THE PLAYING CAREER OF CELTIC LEGEND AND SCOTLAND INTERNATIONAL ADAM McLEAN Adam McLean was born in Glasgow on 27 April 1899. An outside-left, he was an integral part of the Celtic team of the 1920s. He provided many assists to Jimmy McGrory, the greatest British goalscorer of all time. Adam McLean signed for Celtic from Anderston Thornbank Juveniles in January 1917 and made his debut only a month later against Dumbarton. From that point on, during the following 11 years, he made 408 appearances for Celtic in the number eleven shirt, scoring a remarkable 138 goals. He made four full international appearance for Scotland. A yellow metal and pearl brooch surrounding plaited hair glazed panel, 2.4cm x 1.6cm, weight approx 5.1gms Condition Report: Large black enamel and pearl; four pearls missing, enamel has a few scratches. Locket panel has dropped in its setting. Large oval painted panel; panel in very good condition, mount ok a few dents. Hair & pearls; all pearls in situ. Pin is rusty. Urn; white hair art, with carved crystal like Essex cystal, in good condition.
A GERMAN GOTHIC JUGENDSTIL PLIQUE-A-JOUR ENAMELLED WINGED PENDANT with grotesque mask, set with mother of pearl, with pendant hanging pearl, dimensions of the pendant 4.7cm to pearl drop base 3.9cm, length of the chain 45cm with simple 'T' bar and loop closure. Stamped DRGM to the reverse which is the abbreviation of the German patent office Deutsches Reichs Gebranchsmuster, stamped 800 for continental silver. Weight 9.4gms Condition Report: Two panels of the enamel are missing and most others are cracked or chipped. Chain and clasp all good.

Ob. 22 Oct 1779 ae30' with sepia painting of a maiden with an urn under glazed panel, approx head size 18.1mm x 13.7mm finger size approx O together with a brooch with black enamel edge and painted sepia and hair art picture of an urn under a glazed panel, 17mm x 14.4mm, weight of both together 6.5gms Condition Report: The ring originally had black enamel to the band all but a few tiny bits of this left, panel and glazing all in good order. Brooch clasp, painting and glazing all good.
THREE MOURNING BROOCHES AND A PENDANT two of the brooches are mounted in un-hallmarked yellow metal, one is set with pearls and inscribed 1819.1cm x 1.7cm, the other painted with a maiden with a wreath, 2.5cm diameter approx, the largest brooch is gold plated with black enamel and hair panel, 4.7cm x 4cm, the pendant is a sepia portrait in a gold plated mount, dimensions 4cm x 2.4cm. TWO DIAMOND SET MOURNING RINGS the first 18ct with black enamel, a pearl set flower interspaced with rose cut diamonds, baring the legend 'In Memory Of' and partial Victorian hallmarks, finger size Q, the second ring has a onyx flower set centrally with a old cut diamond of approx 0.20cts, with scrolled shoulders and floral engraving picked out in black enamel. Partial Victorian hallmarks as well and a locket back. Finger size approx N, weight for both 5.9gms Condition Report: diamond and pearl;- One pearl is chipped on clode inspection, quite a bit of the enamel is missing from the sides of the ring, the round area is also chipped but not full thickness with some abrasions from wear. locket back missing. diamond and onyx; some losses to the enamel down the sides, small hole to the top of the setting, locket glazed cover in place but it is cracked. .

Dimensions 3.8cm x 2.4cm, weight 8gms Condition Report: Chip to the bottom of the right hand flag, very minor chipping to the union flag, small shallow dent by the top left hand thistle, locket back intact.
A PAINTED ENAMEL BROOCH DEPICTING THE SWISS RESORT GRUTLI the well painted plaque is 2.8cm x 2.2cm, in bright yellow metal mount, weight approx 5.3gms, in original fitted box Condition Report: Scratch to the enamel, deep enough to catch your nail but does not disrupt the painted enamel. Mount and clasp all good. Fitted box has some scuffing to the exterior and the pin of the brooch catches the silk lining, clasp works fine.
