A 'Wucai' Circular Box and Cover, Wanli mark and period, of circular form, the domed cover with a slightly raised central medallion decorated with a pair of iron-red and yellow birds perched on the branches of a tall willow tree, two butterflies hovering in flight above lilies and other flowers to one side, within a border of prunus, lychee, pomenegrate and peach sprigs, the base encircled by further fruit sprays including vine, the slightly raised edge rims with bands of underglaze-blue lozenge speckled with green enamel and iron-red, six-character Wanli mark to the base, 24cm., 9.5in.

A French gilt brass and porcelain mantel clock with an enamel dial and eight-day movement, the balloon shaped case with a twin handled urn finial flanked by caryatid handles with a ribbon tied foliate garland and on a circular base with four scrolled feet, 48cm high. See lot 922 for illustration.
A Victorian walnut and gilt brass mounted mantel clock in the French style, white enamel dial inscribed "Oliphant & Botsford, Manchester" with blue enamel roman numerals, eight-day movement striking on a coiled gong, the case of balloon shape with an urn finial to top and a mask with scallop shell motif and further rococo scrolls to the base, 34cm high.
A LATE 19TH CENTURY SWISS MUSIC BOX, the 6" cylinder playing eight Airs, the titles handwritten on a colour transfer printed sheet, with three bells in line with gilt enamel decorated floral finials and butterfly strikers, contained in a cross banded walnut case, the lid with central marquetry inlaid musical trophies, and with pierced metal carrying handles. 18" x 10".
