Liberty & Co, a matched pair of silver 'Cymric' knife rests lacking enamel, One fully marked L & Co, 'Cymric', Birmingham hallmarks for 1902, 454, the other stamped 'Cymric',Each of openwork gate form with scroll motif and textured surface, on shaped feet,9.2 cm long & 8.9 cm long (2)The longer of the two has the full set of marks and there is a split on the bottom centre of the 'gate'. The feet have a rounded edge. There are some spots, abrasions and general wear to surfaces. The shorter of the two has slightly different feet and is only stamped 'CYMRIC' - there are no hallmarks and the 'gate' is of slightly thicker gauge. Also has some spots and general wear and tarnishing.Both 'gates' have a textured finish.
Liberty & Co (British Est.1875), a pewter and enamel clock designed by David Veazey,c.1905, Stamped 'English Pewter, Made by Liberty & Co, 01144,The front decorated in shallow relief with a tree motif, the copper dial decorated with a blue/green enamelled centre, with a black enamel outer ring, having Roman numerals, with key, 19.5 cmA few tiny scratches to central blue/green enamel. The black outer enamel ring has sustained some damage and some sections poorly restored. A small scratched patch on the copper. Pewter - A few small indentations. Some old marks, wear and rubbing in keeping with age. Some surface texturing. Wear to base. The key is housed in the back and the movement is not working. The movement is stamped Lenzkirch, 792807. David Andersen (Norwegian Founded 1876), a silver-gilt and enamel boxed set of tea spoons, tongs and strainer,c.1920, Mark of David Andersen, 925s, the box with partial David Andersen mark,Comprising: 12 teaspoons, 2 larger spoons, a pair of sugar tongs and a tea strainer, each piece silver gilt, with mauve enamel on the handles and the back of the bowls over engine-turned decoration, presented in a silk lined presentation box, Strainer 11.5 cm long, long spoon 13.3 cm long, tongs 9.6 cm long, coffee spoons 9.5 cm long (17)Small tea spoons do not appear to have been used. A few marks on the larger ones and tongs. Strainer with some tarnishing to the underside.Box: some splitting to the silk along the hinge. a few small marks. Outside of the box aged and a bit dirty, with some wear to the underside.
Daum (French Est.1879), an enamelled 'Imperial Russian Commemorative' clear glass vase,Engraved Daum Nancy with Cross of Lorraine c.1890-1896,The vase of ribbed shouldered form decorated in black, red and gilt with three Imperial black crowned double-headed eagles with sceptre and orb, each separated with a gilt outlined pale blue cross,10 cm highNote: Daum made a number of commemorative items in the 1890s to commemorate both the Franco-Russian Alliance of 1894 and also the State visit of Tsar Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra in 1896.Some minute abrasions and nicks to the edge of the base and light natural wear to sides in keeping with age. Enamel generally good but with some loss and rubbing to the gilt.
EARL HOWE A gold anchor pendant inscribed "Earl Howe 1st June 1794"; 4 cms (This commemorates the victory of the "Glorious First of June" when Richard Howe, 1st Earl Howe 1726-99 was in command of a British Fleet which defeated the French), together with a gold locket dated 1823 and an enamel and gold locket dated 1849 (3)
A carved horn box, of oval shape, with a brass hinge, the lid inlaid with brass in a radiating pattern, internally lined with purple velvet, 15cm wide, 8cm deep, 4cm high, with, a pierced brass cigarette box, with a partially enamelled exterior, internally cedarwood-lined, 10cm wide, 8cm deep, 4cm highCondition report: With tarnish to the brass. The hinge to the horn box damaged. The cigarette case with loss of enamel.
