A Victorian black enamel, half pearl and yellow gold mourning brooch, the central glazed compartment containing arrangements of locks of hair; together with a yellow gold locket applied with a cross patee, with registration mark engraved to the side; and other assorted items including an 18 carat yellow gold signet ring.

A most attractive gold coloured (not HM) brooch by H J Wilm, court jewellers, Berlin. Diam 35mm including projections, the field of punched design with separate overlaid crown and V and A monogram, the "V" in blue enamel. All enclosed by a beaded rim set at 6 points with a small pearl. The reverse of "porthole" style and set with a dark grey grained stone, brooch pin and 'keep' chain. GVF or better, in its original maker's case, gold embossed with the crowned V and A monogram. A charming item Plate 4. Note: This is undoubtedly a personal presentation from Auguste Victoria 1858-1921 (nee Auguste Viktoria of Schleswig Holstein) the consort of Kaiser Wilhelm II.
