Dudman 1923 (No 1 SD RAF); and a bronze badge depicting winged bullet with motto "Speed Up Munitions" reverse "The Great War..1914 - Did her bit on munition work', brooch mtd. GC

A most attractive gold coloured (not HM) brooch by H J Wilm, court jewellers, Berlin. Diam 35mm including projections, the field of punched design with separate overlaid crown and V and A monogram, the "V" in blue enamel. All enclosed by a beaded rim set at 6 points with a small pearl. The reverse of "porthole" style and set with a dark grey grained stone, brooch pin and 'keep' chain. GVF or better, in its original maker's case, gold embossed with the crowned V and A monogram. A charming item Plate 4. Note: This is undoubtedly a personal presentation from Auguste Victoria 1858-1921 (nee Auguste Viktoria of Schleswig Holstein) the consort of Kaiser Wilhelm II.
