Late 18th/early 19th Century English School - Oval miniature - Portrait of a gentleman wearing a brown coat, 6.5 cm x 5.5cm, in a gilt metal and blue enamel pendant frame with hair panel and crowned monogram M.B. Condition: The frame is a little buckled and needs re-pinning - **General condition consistent with age
Late 19th/early 20th Century Japanese Arita dessert service decorated in the Imari palette with birds amongst foliage, and comprising: ten low comports, 24cm diameter and two high comports, 28.25cm diameter, each piece with six character mark Condition: One of the tall comports has a three pointed star crack visible within the deep cone of the base where there is an intentional firing hole, at least five of the plates have hairline cracks or sections broken out and restuck , a further plate has a flake to the underside of the rim, the blue has oxidised to a black on one of the plates and there are varying degrees of wear to the iron-red on all pieces and wear to the enamel decoration particularly at the rims - would recommend viewing this lot in person
Group of thirteen matching Chinese Famille Rose plates and chargers, each having enamel painted foliate decoration and comprising: two 39.5cm diameter chargers, one 35cm charger, one 25cm plate and nine 23cm plates Condition: One of the large dishes has a foot rim chip approx 25mm x 8mm only visible from the underside, another of the large plates has a large hairline crack running across the well with a further rim chip to the outer edge approx 6mm x 5mm, at least three of the plates have hairline cracks, a fourth plate has a star crack across the entire base and a three staple repair where a crescent shaped section from the rim has been restored, there are further small rim chips to various plates, wear to the enamel decoration - would recommend viewing this lot in person
Kumeno Teitaro of Nagoya - Ginbari enamel and silver baluster shaped vase decorated with two Cranes on a rock amongst waves, the sun sets in the distance, base with signature, 23cm high Condition: There is a 12cm x 10cm brown patch above the back of the lower of the two birds which has a crack running around the outside of it, this is possibly where water has got beneath the 'glaze', there are two 10cm hairline stress cracks to the right of the upper bird and two similar cracks above the beak of the upper bird, there is a small black 'dot' on the opposite side of the vase approx halfway up, - please see images - **General condition consistent with age
18th Century German enamel circular box having polychrome decoration depicting figures on a town quay, the hinged cover opening to reveal a puce landscape to the underside, 6.5cm diameter Condition: There is a fracture to the side below the lid handle and below the hinge, both of these are visible on the inside and outside, the lid has two fractures both running from the edge towards the centre, some nibbles to the edges of panels, light surface scratches allover - **General condition consistent with age
