A fine late 18th Century gentleman's gilt brass cased "Memento Mori" pocket watch by George Flote of Islington, No 127, and dated 1791, the 52mm white enamel dial finely decorated in black with central shield pattern cartouche, decorated with a cockerel, an owl and a skull and crossbones, flanked by a standing figure of "Father Time" and a trumpeting classical female, the central circular dial with Arabic numerals and fine gold hands with central half second indicating sweep second hand, the movement with duplex escapement and finely pierced and engraved watch cock, the centre set with a rose diamond and the lower section decorated with oval profile of a gentleman, with fine chain fusee, plain turned pillars and fitted dust cap, contained in good quality gilt brass double opening case and central release button within bow, 65mm diameter overall, (case makers mark star above W.M) and with later ivory handled winding key for same Note: George Flote recorded working London 1805-1808, maker of beautiful clocks and unusual watches

There is a very faint hairline crack to the enamel. The glass is damaged. The winding crown is a replacement and would appear to be steel and fairly new. The back of the case has engraved initials contemporary with the age of the watch
Late 19th / early 20th century mantel clock with French eight day timepiece movement, signed - J. W. B. 34342, white enamel dial with blue Arabic numerals, signed - J. W. Benson, in an ebonised and enamelled case with blue floral decoration and turned brass columns, 29.5cm overall height (pendulum and key lacking) CONDITION REPORT General overall condition is reasonable. Movement is clean but we are unable to confirm if it is in full working order. Dial is in good condition, although black slow / fast letters and signature are worn. Case appears to be enamel on metal, background blue is very worn, floral decoration is largely undamaged with a few minor chips and blemishes. Ebonised top has been repaired on the pediment above dial and on base above right front foot
Georg Jensen silver heart-shape brooch, numbered - 242B, Georgian paste set buckle, 19th century gilt metal and blue enamel buckle clasp, Victorian snake ring and sundry jewellery CONDITION REPORT Georg Jensen brooch - good condition, pin is very slightly distorted. Brooch is tarnished and would benefit from being cleaned. Georgian paste set buckle - all gem stones are intact. Buckle in working order and good condition. Maker's mark on back - initials M.T. within a square. Enamel buckle - overall good condition. Left panel has small repair to blue enamel. Centre gilt metal crown is distorted and has part broken off. Reverse of buckle is tarnished. Snake ring - the band is very distorted and worn. Gemstone missing from head. Beaded necklace - beads have a section broken off and loose. Five various brooches - all clasps work, all in a fair condition, some would benefit from a clean. Bangle - good condition, rather tarnished. Oval locket - does not close flush. Knop - slight wear and very tarnished
1920s Swiss silver and purple guilloche enamel dressing table clock of small proportions, with Swiss timepiece movement and silvered dial with bright cut decoration, in a domed case with top-mounted swing handle, on four ball feet (London Import marks for 1924), 5.5cm overall height CONDITION REPORT General overall condition quite good, silver is scratched and some dings. Enamelling is reasonably good. Top panel is chipped on one corner. Side panels and rear door have lost some of the colour. Rear door is also slightly distorted. Front panel around dial is blistered and may have been repaired. Movement appears to be in working order but we cannot vouch for accuracy. Hallmarks are clear

Provenance: Mrs Lillian Shay was the mother of the Hollywood actress Mildred Shay CONDITION REPORT Cigarette case - general overall condition good, enamelling some scratching and very minor damage to borders, interior has some minor scratching, 7.7cm overall width. Compact - general condition reasonable, enamel quite badly damaged on cover and body near hinge, some surface scratching, interior gilding worn, mirror plate discoloured, 6cm diameter. Cheroot holder - actual holder in good condition, no major damage, ivory stem now separate, 12cm including stem. Case in fair condition. All at approximately 8ozs

There is some solder on the inside of the case, at the terminal where the shaft joins the case. Slight damage to the enamel dial at 3 o'clock position and several scratches. Enamelling has minor scratching. Both handled hairbrushes have damage to enamelling along border, one brush is chipped in two places, the other chipped at one end. Other pair of brushes have border chips and mirror is chipped at end of handle. Enamelled cover of one of the jars is quite badly worn around rim. Glassware is good. brush bristles are worn. Hallmarks generally clear, some minor rubbing

Late 19th / early 20th century wall clock with chain-driven fusee movement, 12 inch white enamel dial, signed - Joyce Whitchurch 593, in an oak case, possible railway connection, case 41cm diameter (pendulum and key present) CONDITION REPORT General overall condition is reasonably good. However, the dial has been repaired in places and possibly repainted. Signature 'Joyce' appears to have been worn away at the bottom by the hour hand. There is some chipping around winding hole, dial securing screws and door hinge screws are not old. Movement has been cleaned at some time and may not be original to the dial as there is some evidence of other dial fixings. Case has been renovated and cleaned and therefore may not be totally original. Front glass hinge is bolted, not screwed. Side door and bottom door hinges and screws are not old. See extra images
