A French Baroque style ormolu mantel clock, circa 20th century, the circular two train outside countwheel bell striking movement with anchor escapement regulated by a star shaped pendulum and stamped 2270 to the backplate, the circular convex enamel Roman numeral dial set behind hinged cast bevel-glazed bezel, the cathedral inspired case with fleur-de-lis spray surmounts supported on four architectural columns on reticulated feet secured to a shaped cast platform base, with articulated bell ringing pastor. 53cm tall. In good cosmetic condition showing no damage no repairs, complete with pendulum and key, the movement is fully wound and not ticking – in need of service/repair
A French Baroque style mantel clock, circa 20th century, the circular two train outside countwheel bell striking movement with anchor escapement regulated by a disc bob pendulum and stamped 2481 to the backplate, the circular convex enamel Roman numeral dial set behind hinged cast bevel-glazed bezel, the case with foliate and fleur-de-lis spray surmounts, the flanking brass grille inset shaped apertures to sides, on conforming feet secured to a separate scroll cast platform base cast with lion mask. 38cm tall. The clock winds, sets and is ticking although we cannot guarantee its fully functional.Additional pictures added to listing.
E Gay Lamaille for Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, a late 19th century brass alarm carriage timepiece, signed white enamel dial with subsidiary alarm dial, the movement stamped EGL, Paris, numbered 318, 13.5cm. Georges Lamaille formed a partnership with Emile Gay, c.1880. They marked their clocks EGL in an oval (presumably a contraction of their initials (E)mile (G)ay and (G)eorges (L)amaille. Emile Gay moved to London in 1860/61. He initially partnered with Adolphe Vicarino before Lamaille bought Vicarino out. The firm remained in business until at least 1903. Movement working when catalogued, the alarm does not work, replacement platform, lacking one glass side.
A late 19th century walnut and ebonised Vienna style wall clock, with carved pediment and finials, fully glazed door flanked by four reeded pilasters, visible brass pendulum with beat plate, pierced steel hands and a two part enamel dial with Arabic numerals, housing a single train going barrel movement, 112cm long.
Jonathan Parker, Liverpool, a George III pair cased verge fusee gilt metal pocket watch, c.1760, with tortoiseshell outer case, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, the movement with pierced engraved balance cock, steel three arm balance, regulating disc and square baluster pillars, signed and numbered steel dust cover 543, outer case 46mm.Working when catalogued but not guaranteed for accuracy, lacking bow, gilt on case worn, dust cover unhallmarked silver, small piece of tortoiseshell missing by thumb piece, cracked at 6pm, overall pretty good condition.
An Edwardian silver presentation desk clock, Birmingham 1907, of arched form, white enamel dial with French 8 day movement, 16.5cm.Inscribed "Presented to , Miss Cecilia Foster, from the, Airton Wesleyan Chapel, for services rendered, as Organist, Feb 1918". Erected in 1896 to replace the much smaller chapel in Scosthrop, the chapel closed at the end of 2007 and is now a nursery.
