A CHINESE EMBROIDERED SILK BLACK-GROUND JACKET, A GROUP OF EMBROIDERED PANELS AND FRAGMENTS AND THREE SILK SCROLL HANGINGS, EARLY 20TH CENTURY. The jacket embroidered with phoenix, peacocks, butterflies and fruits, within silvered cloud pattern border, with bright blue sleeves embroidered in gold and silver thread with peony and pale-blue lining, all hangings in red silk, dated circa 1935, each with presentation inscriptions or a poem to a teacher on his retirement from his pupils, together with a blue and white silk scroll embroidered with flowers as a Christmas present, a fan cover, a folding purse, a child's black hat and two embroidered fragments. The jacket 93cm long. (6)The jacket (with enamel and white metal toggles). One sleeve with losses and damages, associated tears, the other sleeve with tears and losses. Both arms with tearing all of the way down the fold. Some tearing beneath arms, elsewhere there are a few minor loose threads, some typical wear to lining. The hangings - with some crazing to the inscriptions (these have been painted either gold or silver paint). Some discolouration and fading to pink cotton backing, otherwise typical wear. The blue scroll with Christmas inscription with some wear and fading to border.The folding purse with small holes to blue backing and minor staining.The fan sleeve with some minor loose threads. The child's black hat with minor discolouration to cotton backing. Two embroidered fragments - one with three embroidered roundels worked with figures, a dragon and a phoenix, with loose threads, losses and loose border. The other rectangular fragment with tear at edged and some fraying.

Pot 5.5cm tall (2) Provenance: Property of a Lancashire family.Some enamel loss to pot, no major damages to body. Jade with slight nicks to face otherwise in good general condition.

Together with a blue and white jar decorated with dragon and clouds. 22cm and 23.5cm tall. (2)Slight losses in places to green enamel with slight nicks to rim and chip to edge of cover. Blue and white jar in good overall condition.

Six-character seal mark of Daoguang to base in underglaze blue. 13.5cm diam.Small fault to foot rim. Minor rubbing to gilt rim. No signs of repair. One faint 1cm line in the glaze vertical from rim.

(2)ProvenanceProperty of an English Gentleman, acquired in Taiwan in the 1970s.Both in good order overall, with some slight wear to gilt rims, minute wear to enamels.
THREE CHINESE PORCELAIN COLOURED GROUND BOWLS, 20TH CENTURY. Comprising two coral red ground Imperial-style bowls with apocryphal Qianlong seal marks, one with underglaze blue six character mark, decorated with birds perched on rockwork and in flight amongst flowering prunus and peony, with a ten character verse in black enamel, flanked by three seals, the second bowl with red and gilt four character seal marks, decorated with boys playing before rockwork and terracing, the interior with leafy branches, the third bowl with underglaze blue six character apocryphal Yongzheng seal mark, the exterior decorated with boys carrying peaches and lanterns, the interior with roundels of flowers and bamboo, reserved against a black ground, 17.7cm diam. max. (3)ProvenanceProperty of an English Gentleman, acquired in Taiwan in the 1970s.Overall in good order. The red ground example with boys with some slight misfiring to red ground, very minor discolouration to the other red ground example to the celadon interior. Minute wear to enamels throughout.

Each with iron-red enamel and gilt four character apocryphal Qianlong seal marks, the first decorated with a courtesan reclining on a daybed in a draped interior, within puce lozenge pattern and precious object border, the underside with coral red ground, the second decorated with a court lady wearing flowing robes, holding a tea tray and standing atop clouds, reserved against a turquoise ground, 24cm diam. max. (2)ProvenanceProperty of an English Gentleman, acquired in Taiwan in the 1970s.The example with turquoise ground with a small patch of flaking and deterioration to glaze beside rim, minor discolouration to turquoise ground. Minute wear to enamels to both, overall in good order.
