Silver in good condition, with no faults. Clear marks to interior.
An 18th/19th century Chinese pottery model of a seated Guanyin: green and purple long flowing robe, serene expression and cradling a book with her right hand. (16.5 cm high)* Condition report: The figure is in good condition overall, with no chips, cracks, hairlines or other damage. No restoration. There are several firing cracks to the inside of the figure, but these are not visible to the exterior. The enamelling on the robe has a few small spots flaws leaving small spots undecorated, and there is another similar small patch of green enamel missing to the top right of the hood over the figure’s head – this is from manufacture and not later damage. Some gilt wear.
Five small boxes comprising:three late 18th century Bilston enamel-style patch-boxes (two with mottos);a 19th century circular box, (possibly Horn), the cover with mother of pearl Prince of Wales' feathers inset decoration, the base in basketweave-style pattern;a modern limited edition silver box and cover, the circular lid centrally decorated with an enamelled bird, assayed London.
An 18-carat yellow-gold-cased full hunter pocket watch: white-enamel dial with Roman numerals, signed 'JNo. Jones - 338 Strand - London' and '15886'; the subsidiary seconds-hand at the 6 o'clock position and a similar sized dial between the 8 and 9 o'clock positions; the fully cased and protected gilded movement also signed and numbered as above; the movement with slow-fast hand (outer case diameter approx. 41mm, gross weight approx. 74.52g)Condition Report: The dial isn't perfect. At the middle between the 5 and 6 o'clock positions there is a small hairline running from the outer ring. There are two small vertical cracks surrounding the 6' o clock numeral and what looks like a small curved hairline coming away from the 10 o'clock position towards the centre ( approx. 3mm long). The watch has a key and appears to be overwound to the fullest position and the movement will require attention.
A 19th century French gilt-metal-cased eight-day mantle clock in Louis XVI style. The two-handled classical-style urn finial above a 7.5 cm white-enamel dial signed Planchon à Paris, with Roman numerals and five-minute Arabic markers, further over two swags and a glazed aperture revealing sunburst-style cast pendulum headed with a mask, the movement individually numbered 605 and signed 'Planchon - Paris'. (33.5cm high) Mathieu Planchon (1842-1921) was apprenticed to his father and subsequently worked for several of the leading French makers including Robert-Houdin and Philippe prior to setting up business in 1880 at Palais Royale, Paris. He specialised in high-end novelty clocks and various imaginative recreations of Renaissance and other historic models.

A white metal and enamel senior officers Metropolitan Police cap badge, with King George VI crown to the top.2 lugs to the reverse, and marked ‘Firmin London’.Plus a small copper key fob, engraved ‘R.Stockdale Met Police Warrant No 122080, a WW2 era photograph of R Stockdale in uniform, a WW1 Royal Engineers cap badge, marked ‘Smith & Wright ltd B’ham’ to the slider, and an anodised Queens crown RAF badge.5 items.Condition: good with only limited service wear.
A scarce WW2 era Soviet Russian summer weight tanker jacket, with 2 enamel badges applied to the right breast. Olive drab green cotton, with 2 breast pockets and 5 buttons to the front. A further 2 buttons are each cuff (each button with a star, hammer and sickle motifs. Wool epaulette to each shoulder, with evidence of a badge having been mounted there. The badges pinned to the right breast include the very rare pre war era RKKA badge, and a WW2 era Tanker badge for excellence in combat.Both badges are screw back (one with replacement later fitting). Notes: information supplied by the vendor states that the jacket was purchased from Major Yuri Kumikov of The Amour Museum, Saritov, Russia. It’s believed to date from circa 1940/41. No apparent issue or maker marks to the jacket. Condition: Small hole to the fabric under one of the epaulettes (one epaulette is also partly detached. Some very minor spot soiling in places, but nothing that is detrimental. Both badges are in good condition, but one has a replacement screw back.

Pre WW2 Hitler Youth knife, with associated scabbard.Non motto, transitional era type, dated 1936 and carrying the RZM mark M7/30 for G.Gräfrath Solingen.With crosshatched plastic grip and inlaid enamel HJ badge.Nickel plated guard and pommel, with original leather washer.Black painted metal scabbard with leather belt hanging strap and leather retainer strap with press stud fitting.Approximately 25cm in length.Condition: usual wear to the nickel plating on the pommel under the leather retainer strap.Light contact marks and scratches to the scabbard.The blade has been sharpened to a very keen edge, leaving buffing marks to both sides of the blade.One rivet is missing from where the leather belt strap attaches to the metal scabbard, which means it pivots (still securely attached by one rivet).All the leather parts are supple.
2 scarce WW1 era War Savings Bonds enamel badges.To include: a square example with black enamel infill, and a button hole fixing to the reverse side (1.9cm x 1.9cm)Marked in raised letters for J.A.Wylie & Co.Plus, a round enamel example with black and red enamel infill, C clasp and hinge pin to reverse (2.8cm width).Marked in raised lettering ‘Thomas Fattorini Birmingham Ltd’.Condition: generally good.They both would likely of had a silvered finish originally, and there is evidence of this to the reverse of the round badge.The brass base metal has patinated dark with age and wear.There is very light enamel wear to the square example.
A selection of post war East German DDR, insignia and pennants.To include: a pair of matched musician wings ‘swallows nests’ with silver braid and white background for infantry personnel, a marksmanship lanyard for tank personnel, 2 x lanyards in gold braid and dark blue braid, 13 x silk screen printed military related pennants, plus 1 Soviet Russian pennant, an East German national construction work book (1959-1965), and 3 enamel and gilt medal year badges for 1952, and 1953 (possibly East German).22 items.Condition: very good.A number of the items appear to be unused, with the others only showing very light signs of wear.
Soviet Russian Order of Friendship of Peoples medal.Multi piece construction in silver, gilt and enamels.Monetny Dvor mint marked to the reverse, along with the hand engraved issue number of 25621.Folded ribbon over an aluminium pin frame.Approximately 4.8cm across.Condition: very good.No damage to the enamel, even patina to the metal.
A late WW2 / Mid 20th century commemorative plaque to the 7th armoured division (Desert Rats).Oak backing panel with 2 applied brass scrolls for the ‘N.Africa 7th Armoured Division Egypt 1939’ and ‘Germany 1945 El Alamein - Berlin’.To the centre is a good quality vitreous enamel Desert Rats badge.2 mounting holes to the reverse.Plus, 2 WW2 and later publications - one called Bomber Command, and the other called The Tank Journal of the Royal Tank Regiment.Plaque size approximately 25cm x 17cm.3 items.Condition: generally good to the plaque.Some light surface wear to the oak, and some very minor surface scratching to the enamel Desert Rat plaque (no chips or cracks).Both publication are in worn condition, with creased corners and one having a partly missing cover.

A Royal Navy group of 7 medals, awarded to Rear Admiral John Nicholas.To include: the Egypt Medal with Alexandria 11th July clasp, Khedives Star dated 1882, Queens South Africa Medal (no clasp), 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal, and the French Legion D’Honneur Officers badge.Notes: a fine group, charting John Nicholas’ career from 1880 through to 1918.John Nicholas (1865-1942), born in Kilburn, London, started his naval career on March 17th 1878 and was appointed to the training ship Britannia.By October 1880 he had attained the rank of Midshipman on the armoured frigate HMS Minotaur as part of the Channel Squadron.In 1884 he was appointed as Acting Sub-Lieutenant, and continued to progress in his career with further promotions to Lieutenant in 1888, and Commander in 1900.By 1906 he attained the rank of Captain, and in 1909 spent 2 years as Commander with the cruiser, HMS Flora.He later served (as Captain) on HMS Jupiter, HMS Argonaut, and HMS Hindustan, the latter of which he served upon until June 1916.After June 1916, he was appointed as Captain of the dockyard at Devonpot, and Deputy Superintendent and Kings Harbourmaster at Devonport Royal Dockyard.By 2nd July 1917, he’d achieved the rank of Rear-Admiral, and was placed on the retired list the following day.Still remaining on the retired list, he advanced to Vice-Admiral in 1922, and later Admiral in 1926.He passed away in 1942, with his obituary appearing in the Times newspaper.The Egypt Medal is named in the correct way, with his rank being Midshipman, and the ship being HMS Monarch.The Khedives Star is unnamed as issued.The Queens South Africa Medal is named in am engraved style (non impressed), where his rank is Lieutenant, and the ship is HMS Powerful.The 1914-15 Star states his rank as Captain, and the BWM and Victory Medals having his rank as Rear-Admiral.His Officers Badge of the Legion D’Honneur is confirmed (and authorised for wear) on September 15th 1916.Condition: generally good.Contact marks from wear, particularly to the Victorian medals, but nothing that is detrimental.The Legion D’Honneur has enamel wear and some losses to both sides.All the medal ribbons appear to be original, although some are short, especially the Egypt Medal.The ribbons are also a little sun faded.
A Soviet Russian Order of the Red Banner of Labour.Type 6 variation 1968-1991.With accompanying award document dated 1971.Silver with gilt and enamel detailing.Mint marked and numbered to the reverse (522458), which matches the numbered award book.2 items.Condition: very good.Nice overall toning to the medal, with undamaged enamels.
A WW2 war and defence medal, awarded to 149281 F/O J.R.Roberts R.A.F.V.R.Also, an associated pair of miniature medals, card medal transit box, an R.A.F. service and release book (named to J.R.Roberts), a pair of R.A.F. Shoulder boards, a pair of fibre dog tags named to J.R.Roberts, and brass R.A.F. Uniform buttons.Additionally, there are several WW2 era gilt metal and enamel Red Cross medals, badges and insignia, some of which are named to Miss Joan Mary Body (later the spouse of J.R.Roberts named above), and a number of WW2 dated British Red Cross certificates named to Miss Body.Notes: According to information supplied by the vendor, 149281 F/O J.R.Roberts served in the Royal Air Force from July 6th 1943.He was commissioned in August 1943 in the technical branch.He served overseas in Iceland from March 1944 through to March 1945, and later in Germany just after WW2.Miss Joan Body is the daughter of C/Sgt Body, who’s WW1 medals are offered in a separate lot.Of note is the fact that John Roberts was the 1st cousin of Pte Maurice Gillespie of the Canadian Infantry (sold in a separate lot).Condition; generally very good, with only light service and age related wear.
