All richly decorated in enamels with butterflies among peaches & pomegranates, set against a deep blue ground. Underside with turquoise enamel & stylised 'Chilong' scrolls.

With a silver appliquŽ profile of 'Frederick The Great' in the centre. The interior of the lid with a Prussian allegory of victory. 8.5cms width.

An unusual Victorian presentation silver cigarette case, modelled as an envelope, with inscribed address to H.R.H Prince of Wales at Sandringham, enamel lilac penny stamp and London postmark for 8th November 1881 the reverse having embossed ducal coronet 'seal' and Sandringham postmark for 9th November 1881 the interior inscribed 'Very many happy returns of the day', London 1881 maker's mark L.D, L 10cm W 7cm

A London Transport bronze-rimmed enamel 'bullseye' station sign "SWISS COTTAGE" as fitted to the wooden ticket-office (passimeter). Enamelled in red, white and blue. This is the rare style only 14" across and 11" diameter. In excellent condition. Swiss Cottage tube station, on the Bakerloo Line, opened on 12th December 1939 (to replace the original Metropolitan Line station).

To Owners And Persons In Charge Of Traction Engines, Steam Road Rollers And Other Unusually Heavy Vehicles Take Notice That This Bridge Is Insufficient To Carry Weights In Excess Of The Ordinary Traffic Of The District, And The Owners And All Persons In Charge Of Traction Engines, Steam Road Rollers, And Other Unusually Heavy Vehicles, Are Hereby Warned Against Taking Such Engines, Rollers, Or Unusually Heavy Vehicles, Over This Bridge, And They Are Hereby Informed That They Will Be Held Responsible For Any Damage That May Be Caused In Consequence Of Such Traffic Being Taken Over This Bridge Contrary To This Notice. 1st Day of May 1903. Ormsby, Secretary". Rectangular, 161/2"x151/2", some repaired edge chips including a large one at the base which conceals the verbose Mr. Ormsby's Christian name. Astonishingly rare; I do not know of another.

A Cromford & High Peak Railway enamel LAMP TABLET "HINDLOW". Between Parsley Hay and Ladmanlow, Hindlow was the junction station for the LNWR line from Buxton. It opened in 1894 and closed in 1963. The C&HPR opened in 1830 and operated the line from Ladmanlow to Cromford. It was leased to the LNWR in 1862 and amalgamated with it in 1887. Rectangular, flangeless, 171/2"x43/4", in fair condition. Lettered black on white.

A small GWR luncheon-basket enamel lettered black on white "GWR.No.17 Refreshment Dept. CORWEN". Rectangular, 6"x3", in superb condition with only very minor edge staining. Corwen station, on the Wrexham to Bala line, and junction for the LNWR line to Denbigh, opened in 1865 and closed in 1964.

A Southern Railway enamel TARGET "TUNBRIDGE WELLS CENTRAL". From the ex SER station, on the Tonbridge to Hastings line, opened as "Tunbridge Wells" in 1846; renamed "Tunbridge Wells Central" in 1923; "Tunbridge Wells" again in 1985. THIS TARGET HAS NEVER APPEARED FOR SALE BEFORE. Professionally restored and fitted with a new backing-board.
