Roman enamelled disc brooch, 2nd century AD. A circular brooch with raised sub-conical centre, the sides of which are formed by radiating spiral arms. Around this is a field of red enamel interspersed by a register of bronze dots. On the reverse, the pin lugs and catchplate are intact but the pin is missing.Cf. Late Iron age to early Roman button-and-loop fastener with a teardrop shaped head and red and yellow champlevé enamel decoration in a geometric chequerboard pattern. A large example in very fine condition, the enamel mostly intact. This style of geometric polychrome decoration is found on a variety of late Iron age metalwork, cf. Celtic Iron age enamelled mount. An incomplete Iron age cruciform mount, probably from a horse harness. Originally in the form of four rectangular panels around a square central panel with two sub-triangular piercings. The rectangular panels are decorated alternately with ring-and-dot and petal motifs. Fair condition, some restoration to the enamel. C. 1st century BC.30mm x 25mm, 12.7g.

Celtic button-and-loop fasteners. A pair of late Iron age or Romano-British button-and-loop fasteners, both having a discoidal head, cranked stem and triangular loop for attachment.
