A George III silver pair cased pocket watch, both cases of Birmingham assay 1810 and with sponsors mark for William Howard, the gilded movement signed John Bell, Hexham and numbered 2253, white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer case approximately 58mm (d).Condition Report: No cracks to the glass but surface scratching / knocks in areas, minute hand somewhat distorted, some hairline cracks to the enamel, confined to near the 6, 7 and 8 o'clock positions, surface scratching to the dial in other areas and a knock at the 2 o'clock position, surface dirt in areas, inner case has some light scratching in areas, outer case has one dent approximately 5mm and surface scratching although these are generally light, movement is untested as we have no suitable key.

Royal Navy interest: A late Victorian silver deck chronometer watch by Leonard Hall, Louth, crown wind, having signed white enamel Roman numeral dial with broad military arrow, outer minutes track and subsidiary Arabic numeral seconds dial, 52mm wide open face silver case by Joseph Walton, London 1893, stamped military arrow to back, signed movement no.1670 stamped military arrow, secured within screw down brass mount and mahogany case with applied ivorine circular plaque "HALL C^W 1670", together with a G & C Dixey telescope. (2) Condition note; chronometer lacking crystal, hour hand bent, movement currently not working. Further images added.

‡ A WEDGWOOD BLACK BASALT ENCAUSTIC-DECORATED RECTANGULAR PLAQUE LATE 18TH CENTURY Painted in the Pompeiian taste with a winged figure within a dodecagonal painted surround 20.5cm x 25.5cm within mount (excluding frame) Provenance: Sotheby Parke Burnett, New York, The Milton Milestone Collection of Early Wedgwood Pottery (Part 1), 16th December 1975, lot 246 Exhibited: Josiah Wedgwood Jubilee Exhibition, 1980, no. 1930. Hammond Museum, 1984.Literature: David Buten, 18th Century Wedgwood, London, 1980, p. 96. Note: Wedgwood developed and patented the 'encaustic' painting technique in 1769. It was the only process, apart from bronzing, which Wedgwood patented. The Wedgwood and Bentley catalogue of 1779 notes that the colours had 'all the Advantages of Enamel, without its essential defects' (see Robin Reilly, Wedgwood:The New Illustrated Dictionary, Woodbridge 1995, p. 150). Plaques and vases were made to imitate Greek and Roman vases. The present lot may have been painted at the Chelsea studio, under the supervision of Thomas Bentley, as The First Day's vases of 13 June 1769 were.This plaque is taken from plate 35, Vol. II of William Hamilton's Collection of Etruscan, Greek and Roman Antiquities (1766-67). D'Harcarville interpreted the figure to be a genie leaning on a symbolic column. Condition Report: Some slight wear and occasional very small flake to colours. A collection of various vintage vehicle, auto related items including an original Lumax Auto Bulbs cardboard retail box containing 12 x vintage PF15A auto bulbs by The British Lumax Auto Bulb Company all in their original packaging in really good condition (it is unusual for a box like this to survive at all let alone with contents intact and this would make a great display piece), a vintage Lodge spark plug supplied with original tin (appears to be unused), a vintage KLG spark plug supplied with original tin (appears to be unused), 2 x original brass fuel can screw lids (1 x Shell and 1 x Pratts), a vintage motorists safety light supplied unused in the original cardboard box (box shows some signs of age), 3 x various vintage MG badges (one has chipped enamel) and a vintage Black Cat Light Fantastic auto light bulb by SEV Marchal supplied unused in the original cardboard box. This interesting mix of vintage auto items show some light signs of age as noted above otherwise are in very good condition (see photographs). Good condition .
