MARIA VASILYEVA SEMENOVA; an early 20th century Russian silver champlevé enamel decorated cigarette box of rounded rectangular form, decorated with a roundel depicting a stylized cockerel within a beaded border on foliate scroll and floral ground to each side, with gilt wash interior, with Maria Vasilyeva Semenova marks, Moscow 1908-1926, 10.5 x 7cm, approx 5.6ozt. CONDITION REPORT Generally in good condition, with some surface dirt and tarnish, odd tiny areas of enamelling imperfections, the areas where the main parts of filigree and enamel decoration is , are reflecting the interior- each side has a circular concave to the centre and smaller one to the corners, also some rubbing to the gilt, some tarnish and areas of pitting/black dots and tiny dints.
PAVEL AKIMOV OVCHINNIKOV; a large 20th century Russian silver gilt champlevé enamel decorated egg-shaped box, overall decorated with floral and scroll motifs on gilt ground, with detachable lid enclosing gilt wash interior, with matching circular stand on three cast supports modelled as double-headed eagles, with Pavel Akimov Ovchinikov mark to each component, Moscow 1908-1926, height 10.5cm excluding stand, combined approx 8ozt. CONDITION REPORT General condition appears to be good, the lid sits well, only with some minor surface dirt, odd areas of tiny losses or crazing, visible after closer examination, stand covered with tarnish, otherwise intact.
An unusual early 20th century child's silver and enamel decorated three piece dressing table set comprising hand mirror, hairbrush and coat brush, each piece beautifully decorated with a romanticised landscape within a white guilloché enamel border, length of mirror 18cm, London import marks for 1927, F B Reynolds (3). CONDITION REPORT In general good condition, only with some surface wear such as scratches, also to the enamel decoration; two pieces with maker's marks partially rubbed.

King’s Home Service Messenger’s badge of office. A very fine and rare silver and enamel WW2 example by Garrard & Co., bearing London hallmarks for 1942. Within a green enamel oval inscribed “King’s Home Service Messenger”, HM King George VI’s Cypher on a domed silver ground. Stout pin to dished reverse which bears issue number “10”. Complete in its blue velvet and cream silk lined fitted case, the inside lid bearing details of Garrard & Co, Goldsmiths to The King. VGC King’s Messengers on overseas service wore the more familiar greyhound badge of office.
Great War Medals of Civil Surgeon Vincent Sutherland Hodson, MVO Order of the Nile. Comprising: Member of the Victorian Order 4th Class (numbered 829 small enamel chips), 1914/15 Star “V.S. Hodson”, British War Medal (officially re-impressed), Victory Medal, “V.S. Hodson”, Order of the Nile 3rd Class Neck Order in original case of issue, Order of the Nile 4th Class. The group is part mounted as originally worn. ... Accompanied by the original warrant for the Insignia of the Third Class Order of the Nile. Dated 1923. Civil Surgeon Vincent Sutherland Hodson, volunteered his services to the military as a civilian. He embarked on His Majesty’s Hospital Ship attached to the RAMC landing in Egypt on the 12th August 1915. By the end of the war he had held appointments as Director at Khartoum and Omdurman Civil Hospitals. He is confirmed as being awarded the 1914/15 Star Trio as a civilian and was appointed to the 3rd Class of the Order of the Nile 19th January 1923 whilst serving as Director of Khartoum Hospital. He was awarded the Order of the Nile 4th Class LG 17th March 1916. In the post war years he had consulting rooms in Harley Street London and in 1937 was appointed The Gresham Professor of Physic.

To each shoulder a silver interlinked chain epaulette. Mounted into a gold coloured oval frame, the reverse with dark blue enamel border and plated hair and initial“B”. Scarlet coatee with Royal dark blue facings and sand to each shoulder gold bullion early style epaulettes. Mounted into a gold coloured oval frame, the reverse with plated hair and an enamel bow. The frame has been mounted with a stout pin fitting. The edge of the frame with floral engraved decoration and the name “William Godfrey Ma ?????”. The hook fitting has obscured the surname. Detail and colours good, colours bright Circa 1780. Height 4.5cm

To the left breast Canadian Parachute qualification wings, medal ribbons 193/45 Star, Italy Star, France & Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with maple leaf, War Medal, MID Oak leaf, Canadian Forces Decoration. Complete with bronzed OSD collar badges and to the shoulder straps WW2 plastic economy issue Lt Col rank insignia and brass “Canada” title. The lining with the London tailors label of Hawkes & Co Ltd and ink name “T.P. Dunderdale”. ... Battledress Blouse, this retaining the padded Parachute qualification wing, and medal ribbons as previous listed. Also full “Royal Canadian Signals” cloth titles. The interior with a British issue label dated 1942. The blouse has been re-tailored to the collar in Officer fashion. ... Dark blue patrol tunic of the regulation pattern. Complete with bullion Parachute qualification wings and medal ribbons. The collars with gilt and enamel RCCS badges and to the shoulder straps Lt Col gilt metal rank insignia. The lining with a tailors label of “The Officers Kit Shop Winnipeg”. ..... Caps include: Khaki servicedress cap, complete with cap badge. ... Dress cap dark blue material with silvered and gilt badge. ... Scarlet dress waist belt. ... Also included is a Canadian light padded qualification wing on jungle green cloth backing, with corresponding medal ribbons. ... Quantity of buttons etc. (large quantity) Lieutenant Colonel T.P. Dunderdale is known to have served with a number of Canadian Signal units and held the rank of Major in November 1945 serving with 3rd Divisional Signals.

Two piece black chequered composition grip inlaid with red and white enamel HJ swastika diamond. Housed in black painted scabbard with black leather belt loop. Plating on grip AF, badge a replacement. Introduced in 1933 with the motto “Blut und Ehre” appeared on the blade. Motto discontinued in August 1938.

Nickel plated turn up quillon and pommel with two piece black chequered composition grip inlaid with red and white enamel HJ swastika diamond. Housed in black painted scabbard with brown leather belt loop retaining press stud securing strap. Some service wear, enamel defective, width of blade reduced by sharpening. Introduced in 1933 with the motto “Blut und Ehre” on the blade. Motto discontinued in August 1938.
Badge. 4th/7th Dragoon Guards Officer’s Colour belt plate. A fine and rare post War example. Large rectangular seeded gilt plate overlaid silver Star of the Order of St. Patrick on a gilt slip. To the centre of the star, a pierced gilt circlet “Quis Separabit” “MCMXXII” on a blue enamel ground, within the circlet a white enamel ground with the Cross of St. Patrick ornamented with red enamel and bearing gilt coronet. The reverse with two retaining bars. VGC 4th/7th Dragoon Guards formed in 1922 by the amalgamation of the 4th Royal Irish Dragoon Guards and and 7th Dragoon Guards. Amalgamated with 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards 1st August 1992 to form The Dragoon Guards.
German Third Reich 2nd pattern RLB dagger and hanger. A good scarce nickel plated example adopted in 1938. Black turned ebonised grip with applied silvered star bearing black enamel swastika (Slightly AF); the langet bearing stylised eagle and swastika. Plain blade. Housed in its black nickel mounted scabbard with hanger which now bears RLB enamelled star. Minor service wear and slight lifting to plating in areas. Generally VGC RLB was the Air Raid Precautions.

Nickel plated turn up quillon and pommel with two piece black chequered composition grip inlaid with red and white enamel HJ swastika diamond slightly chipped. Housed in black painted scabbard with brown leather belt loop missing securing strap. Heavy service wear, blade has been sharpened reducing length to 11.5 cm. Introduced in 1933 with the motto “Blut und Ehre” on the blade. Motto discontinued in August 1938.
German Third Reich NSFK dagger by F & A Helbig, Steinbach KrM. A fine early nickel mounted example. Blue leather grip with black enamel swastika to centre of down swept crossguard (stamped ‘K’ on the end) on either side, numbered A112 on side of swastika mount. Double edged polished blade bearing faint oval maker’s logo. Housed in original blue leather and nickel mounted scabbard, with single suspension ring and complete with strap and belt clip; scabbard throat stamped with winged Icarus and swastika device, B84 and 33. One chape screw has been absent for many years. VGC
