Rare circa 1850 Knights Patent night watchman's clock, the white enamel dial with Roman hours, central cast ring with 'Knights Patent Duty Register' a single drawer below, 49cm high, 33cm wide, the Knights Patent No 5494 "Apparatus for ascertaining the attendance to duty of any watchman or other person..." taken out by Henry Knight in 1827. the June edition of 'The Clock Maker' has a piece on the patented clock and states "A rare example of Henry Knight’s Patent No. 5494 taken out in 1827 and recorded as an “Apparatus for ascertaining theattendance to duty of any watchman or other person”, was also included. The clock circa 1850, is only one of three known examples." This clock now making it four known examples
