Ross & Son, and individually numbered no. 1610 Glasgow, the hand-planished case with maker's mark PW and also correspondingly numbered 1610, total weight of pocket watch approx. 194gThe dial is not without damage sadly, there is a small crack emanating from between the 11 and 12 o’clock position from the edge of the enamel dial to the beginning of the top subsidiary dial, there is also a crack in the middle of the dial emanating from the very centre where the hands meet and this crack goes from the centre to the beginning of each of the subsidiary dials. There is also a very small hairline from the edge of the enamel dial to the beginning of the lower subsidiary seconds hand dial and there is an arched hairline emanating from the lower subsidiary seconds hand dial past the top of the 5 o’clock position arcing to the edge of the enamel dial. In a horizontal position with the case door open and the white dial showing the watch appears to be working and in good order. Held vertically the watch also appears to be in good working order, held upside down with the white enamel dial facing the floor the watch stops working but returns to working order when it is held horizontally. The spring opening the outer case covering the enamel dial has weakened. No major dings or hinge issued noted although being super critical the edges of the case where it has been hand planished are worn slightly and are smoother than the centre of the outside of the hand planished case front and back.
