A Pair of Second World War German U-Boat 7 X 50 Binoculars by Carl Zeiss, Jena, numbered 21944, with green crinkle enamel tubes, the right shoulder marked with magnification, number and maker's blc code under rubber armour, the eyepieces being hinged, with further rubber armour around the objective lenses, the original bakelite eyepiece shield marked Benutzer, Okulare festgestellt. Nicht verdrehen and with rubber cord, with part of the leather strap, in a canvas slip case. Optics have small interior spots, but generally good. some wear to enamel on extremities. Generally in good condition.

An early 19th Century glass rummer of tapering bucket form with white enamel rim, raised on a knop stem to stepped circular foot, 11.3 cm diameter x 22.5 cm high, together with another similar rummer, 12.2 cm diameter x 20 cm high and another smaller on plain stem to circular foot, 10.5 cm diameter x 15.8m cm high CONDITION REPORTS All have some surface scratching, internal flaws, etc. Surface scratching especially noticeable to the base. The larger of the three with the white rim has a slight yellowish tinge and a small chip to the foot.
18TH CENTURY ENGLISH SCHOOL "Young boy in lace trimmed jacket with gold braid wearing white enamel cross pendant, gloves in his left hand, his hat in his right", a portrait study, three quarter length, oil on canvas, unsigned, inscribed in chalks verso "Lot 378 11.2.82" CONDITION REPORTS Some minor surface scratches and cracking to the paint in areas. Under UV there appears to be extensive repainting and restoration also cleaning mainly to the head and hands. Some wear to the paint to the sides near the slip. Painting has wear and tear commensurate with age and use. See photos for details.
Wing Commander V.A. Gittins Interest:- A Messerschmitt BF109 Cockpit Single Push Chronograph by Gebruder Junghans, number 25938, the circular black enamel dial with luminous hands and Arabic numerals, centre sweep seconds hand and subsidiary 30 minute dial, the winding crown marked with maker's trademark, lacks calibrated outer bezel (af), together with a copy of Sotheby's catalogue description of a related medal group. Footnote:- reported to have been brought back from Russia by Wing Commander Gittins where he served at the outbreak of the Second World War with No.151 Wing which had been detailed to assist in training future Soviet Pilots.. Balance staff is broken. Outer calibrated bezel is missing.
An early 20c photograph album including views of Pluckley Village circa 1920/30 together with various black and white portrait photographs, having twenty one leaves with photograph cut outs and descriptions, within a mother of pearl diamond cut cover panel with enamel foliate formed corner mounts and central motif. The spine and back board covered with blue velvet and having a gilt metal clasp, 12.5in x 9.5in.
A small French carriage timepiece in English silver repousse case hallmarked for 1900 and stamped for Henry Matthews. The entire case is covered in scrollwork and has similar handle and round bun feet. The 1.5in diam. white enamel dial has Roman numerals and the single train French movement has a lever platform escapement. 4in tall (handle raised).
