A Victorian yellow metal memorial brooch, featuring seed pearl set central black hardstone panel surrounded by black and white enamel work, featuring reverse glass panel compartment, metal unmarked, together with a 9ct yellow gold bow brooch suspending a memorial pendant featuring glass covered panels of hair work, brooch hallmarked Birmingham 1965, (2).
A large Limoges enamel Plaque of the Crucifixion, circa 1530, finely painted in polychrome and details in gold with a scene modelled on the engraved passion of the Durer. Translucent salmon coloured counter enamel. In an ornate composition frame. An area of restoration lower right but generally in good condition. In style and palette this enamel is closely related to three enamels from the Passion series in the Musee des Beaux Arts at Orleans, dated to the first third of the 16th century, 5 1/2'' x 6 3/4''.
An exceptional and historically interesting group of three early Limoges enamel Plaques from the collection of Lord Delamere (Hugh Cholmondley 2nd Baron Delamere) loaned to the exhibition of Art Treasures at Old Trafford Manchester 1857, including i. Jean de Limosin, a portrait of St. Francis Xavier c. 1610, signed IL with a dot between the letters and labelled verso (a restored portion of the background), 5 3/4'' x 5''. ii. Jean de Nouailher signed and dated 1751 - A Saint (minor edge chips). The exhibition catalogue p. 142 refers specifically to an enamel in Lord Delamere's collection ''one of the last examples of the 18th c. work by Jean Nouailher of Limoges dated 1751 sufficient to show in what wretched state art had fallen'', 5 1/2'' x 5 1/4''. iii. Anonymous 17th c. Portrait of a heirophant. Some losses. All in Lord Delamer's custom built wood and fret brass frames, two with labels from the Art Treasures exhibition. The prestigious exhibition was opened by Prince Albert and twice visited by Queen Victoria a few weeks later, 5 1/2'' x 5''.
A 19th c. German made ebonised Architectural Mantle Clock in Roman Temple form with pediment top, the circular white enamel Roman numeral face having brass centre and rim under single bevel edge pane door, flanked either side by half turned Corinthian style columns on lower plinth base, marked to the rear H.A.C. and with 14 day strike, 10 1/2'' wide x 11 1/4'' high x 6'' deep
Large and heavy Memorial to The West Yorkshire Regiment on five brass panels which form a Roll of All The Officers and Men of the 1st Volunteer Bn of the West Yorkshire Regt who served in South Africa during The Boer War 1899-1902. These include the 1st and 2nd Service Corps Imperial Yeomanry and those serving with other corps. The names are inscribed into the brass as are regimental badges using red and black enamel. Each of the four panels measure 920 x 920 and the top panel 1420 x 830. This memorial was originally displayed in The Regimental Depot . When the depot closed it was then in the possession of the Regimental Museum and disposed of when the museum was reorganised. This memorial demands a permanent home (Very heavy, buyer Must Collect).
