A Bedside manual wind alarm clock, circa 1940, in the form of a chinoiserie double cylinder shape miniature cabinet in a brass frame on pad feet, the two bowed black enamel doors with faux cloisonné scenes opening to reveal the square timepiece with baton hours and hands in the late Art Deco manner
A pair of silver and pale blue guilloche enamel dwarf candlesticks by A. L. Davenport Ltd., Birmingham, 1928, tapering columns on filled circular base, with lamp-shade form capitals, 14.5 cm. high; also two silver napkin rings and a quantity of silver-plated items comprising:- a mug, a toastrack, a quantity of flatware and two Victorian egg cruets, one a 4-cup naturalistic lily pad example, the other an engraved 6-cup example on ball and claw feet, circa 1880. Wt. of napkin rings 32 gm. Enamel on candlesticks OK except for a minuscule chip below top edge of capital on one stick, this same stick has a small lead solder repair where capital joins top of column.
An American silver 8-day clock by Black, Starr & Frost, New York, circa 1900, in folding flower and scroll-engraved case with vacant reserve to front, gilt interior, white enamel dial with Arabic numerals and blued steel hands, 10 cm. x 9.5 cm. Cartouche a bit whippy and probably erased, does not appear to be ticking when wound.
An etched glass scent bottle with lilac guilloche enamelled silver hinged cap, by Henry Matthews, Birmingham, circa 1920 (date letter rubbed), squat baluster body cut with ovoid foliate panels centred by different types of etched flowers, star-cut base, 14 cm. high.Shallow 2.1/2 cm. long chip to cover and lacks interior glass stopper but glass undamaged and very pretty, enamel can be restored.
A mixed group comprising:- a cut-glass scent atomiser with white metal mount stamped "Sterling silver", 12.5 cm. high (glass OK); a late Victorian silver-mounted globular glass match-striker, Birmingham, 1896 (some dings to silver rim); a white metal novelty pill box in the form of a wrapped sweet, stamped "Sterling"; two novelty white metal whistles stamped "925" and "925 Sterling", one in form of an eagle's head, the other as a perching owl, with coloured glass eyes, both with suspension loops; a George III silver-gilt vinaigrette (lacks grille), engraved with flowers, by John Shaw, Birmingham, 1811; a gilt-metal and enamel seal (enamel intact) and a base-metal paste-set seal (8).
A pair of opera glasses in brass with black enamel finish. Both barrels are well engraved with bluebirds in a landscape, originally enamelled in blue, red and black, only traces of which remain. Otherwise in very good order with good action and in satin-lined leather case, satin lining torn.
