The Link 1937-1939, Anglo-German Fascist Officially Numbered Membership Lapel Badge. A rare original brass and enamel fascist membership badge for the organisation known as "The Link" which were in existence for a very short time between the years 1937 and 1939, the reverse with maker's details "J.R.Gaunt London" and impressed with official issue number "2396. Complete with buttonhole fitting. The Link was a non-party organisation founded by Admiral Sir Barry Domville, K.B.E., C.B, C.M.G., with the view to promote good relations between the British and German peoples. The main office was at "Link House, 230, Strand, London, W.C.2." with other branches in England, Scotland, Ireland and Germany.

During the Great War it would become the third largest British aircraft maker. The Company was forced into liquidation by a factory fire in 1922.

1st Life Guards 1842 Albert pattern Officer's helmet This example attributed to Major George Rushout 3rd Baron Northwick. Silvered skull with giltmetal scrolling floral decoration to the front and rear peaks and also gilt oakleaf spin to the rear. To the front a fine gilt and enamel Victorian helmet plate of regimental pattern. The crown is surmounted by a gilt plume holder, which supports a white horsehair plume with gilt rose boss. A pair of gilt bosses support a leather backed chinchain. The interior with original silk lining. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING. The helmet has been disassembled and is now in parts. Gilt metal remains bright. Plate with no damage to enamel. Skull is good. Chinchain with stitching faults. Lining good. Plume in relic condition. One section of oakleaf gilt metal which would fit from helmet plate crown to plume holder is missing. All other parts appear present. George Rushout, 3rd Baron Northwick (1811-87). Educated at Harrow and Oxford graduating with both BA and MA, commissioned Cornet in the 1st Life Guards 1833, was promoted Lieutenant in 1837 and Major in 1842. MP for Evesham (over which he fought one of the last duels) and Worcester East.

German Third Reich WW2 War Order of the German Cross in silver by C.F. Zimmermann, Pforzheim. A good scarce example. Eight pointed silver star with slightly smaller dark overlay. Mounted on the star, set on a red enamel ground, a silver laurel wreath with '1941' at the base. Within the wreath, a silvered edged black enamel swastika set on a matt silver ground. The front secured with six rivets, complete with vertical tapered pin. Enamel damage to right arm of swastika otherwise GC. Instituted by Adolf Hitler for the Wehrmacht on 29th September 1941 and designed by Professor Klien of Munich.

Housed in black painted scabbard with retaining press stud and broken securing strap. A little wear overall. GC Introduced in 1933 with the motto 'Blut und Ehre' on the blade. Motto discontinued in August 1938.
