A French Striking Carriage Clock Margaine, Paris circa 1900. The clock with push button repeat, nr 2574 with retail mark Martin & Fils Paris. The back plate stamped with the beehive trademark for Margaine. Rectangular white enamel Roman numeral dial with blued steel Bregeut hands, housed in the original leather travelling case. Approx 17.5 x 8.5 cms to include the handle.
A pair of Victorian ruby glass table lustres Each of similar design with circular spreading bases extending to a basal knopped stem and terminating at a circular lobed bowl with scalloped gilt rim suspending a series of cut glass arrow form drops, each typically enamelled to the exterior sides with burnished gilt and opaque pink and white floral enamel designs, each mounted on an ebonised pedestal base, (one with glass dome), 35.5cm high. (2) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 1750: A pair, the first one gilt rim bright, gilt and white enamel frieze bright paint thick, gilt to the circular plinth base rubbed, some scratching to the enamel leaves on the bell shaped base, all glass pendant droppers in tact and good condition. The second one rim in good condition, gilt in good condition to rim, gilt and white enamel to frieze good condition, minor scratches to the gilt on the central baluster stem, minor scratches to the leaf and white enamel frieze on the bell shaped base, minor rubbing on the gilt rim (only minor on this lustre) each with plinths, some rubbing to the red velvet, some supports to plinth possibly replaced with one glass dome only, in good condition.
A Minton two handled vase and cover The white ground with a ribbon tied interlaced band enclosing roses above a frieze painted with roses, gilt jewelled border with scrolling leaves raised upon a plinth base, gilt coronet and globe mark circa 1900. 21cms, a Minton's two handled vase the white fluted ground decorated with roses and pendant leaves and flowers raised upon an oval base, red coronet and the globe mark circa 1900, 15cms, a Minton's table ink well, liner and cover with a blue frieze decorated with sprays of roses and flowers, green coronet and globe mark circa 1880, 10cms, two similar decorated tea and coffee cups and saucers and a side plate (8) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 1784: Two handled vase and cover - the cover, rubbing to gilt finial, crazing to the blue enamel ground, the two handled lower vase gilt bright no repairs or damage to handles, the white body overall crazing, a hairline crack running beneath the interlaced oval approx. 6cm, hairline crack running through the blue shouldered frieze enclosing the roundels with roses approx. 6cm and running in to the white lower tapering vase shaped frieze approx. 3.5cm and a second hairline crack to the same frieze, overall crazing to the blue enamel ground on the lower support and plinth, hairline crack running through the underside through the fixing central screw underneath the plinth. Two handled tapering vase decorated with roses damage to left hand handle broken and re glued traces of glue just beneath the angular shoulder and restoration to the sea scroll, lower part of handle, piece missing and glue showing, surface scratching to the white ground and some surface crazing, minor rubbing to the gilt oval foot rim. Inkwell cover and liner - the cover - possible old damage to the branch handle at the end, possibly repainted, circular stand - possibly repainted, circular stand - rubbing to the inner gilt of the inkwell holder, no cracks chips or restorations, decoration good condition, gilt work good condition with the exception of the inner part of the stand, the inkwell - good condition, minor rubbing to the inner gilt rim. Tall cup and saucer - minor rubbing to the gilt rim and the gilt on handle, saucer - minor rubbing to the rim, some surface scratching to the inner well. Wide cup and saucer - overall freckling to the white and blue ground of the cup and saucer, otherwise good condition. Small side plate - overall crackle glazing, minor chip to the blue enamel rim.
A Victorian hallmarked silver open face fusee pocket watch The white enamel dial signed AW Butt, Chester with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, movement signed F Butt, Chester with engraved cock, the case hallmarked Chester 1890 and a second hallmarked silver open faced pocket watch, Chester 1904 the white dial signed H Samuel, Chester "The climax trip action patent", a metal chain and a key. A French variegated marble and gilt metal portico mantle clock With a 9.5cm white enamel dial with Arabic numerals painted with festoons, pierced foliate hands, the two train Samuel Marti movement, Paris 1900, No: 1020 with outside count wheel striking on a saucer bell, the drum case surmounted with a vase of blooms eagles and leaves, the rectangular veined marble plinth with flambeau finials supported by columns with gilt metal mounts, visible mask and sunburst pendulum raised upon a rectangular plinth with a gilt metal leaf and shell mount raised upon four toupie feet with two keys. An early 19th Century mahogany dial clock With a convex glazed brass bezel to the convex cream painted metal dial, unsigned, pierced hands, Roman numerals the four pillar single train fusee movement with A shaped brass plates, anchor escapement with a pendulum bob and a later key, the case with a hinged side door, lacking lower door. (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2064: the outer brass bezel some signs of discolouration around the border, hinge to door loose, central key missing, original glass, usual enamel chipping around the four fixing screws to border of dial some paint in the process of flaking in the central dial just below twelve o'clock, minor scratching around winding aperture, minor bend to the seconds hand, mahogany case the moulded border minor scratches, lower hinged door lacking, hinges lacking, slither of veneer missing to the lower part of the trunk approximately 2cm x 2cm, a small piece of veneer missing on the right of the trunk by the hinge recess, two wooden plugs missing to hold the dial in place, side hinge door in place hinges loose two screws missing, some veneer to border on hinged door missing, possibly later pendulum and later key.
