E Gay Lamaille for Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, a late 19th century brass alarm carriage timepiece, signed white enamel dial with subsidiary alarm dial, the movement stamped EGL, Paris, numbered 318, 13.5cm. Georges Lamaille formed a partnership with Emile Gay, c.1880. They marked their clocks EGL in an oval (presumably a contraction of their initials (E)mile (G)ay and (G)eorges (L)amaille. Emile Gay moved to London in 1860/61. He initially partnered with Adolphe Vicarino before Lamaille bought Vicarino out. The firm remained in business until at least 1903. Movement working when catalogued, the alarm does not work, replacement platform, lacking one glass side.

Jonathan Parker, Liverpool, a George III pair cased verge fusee gilt metal pocket watch, c.1760, with tortoiseshell outer case, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, the movement with pierced engraved balance cock, steel three arm balance, regulating disc and square baluster pillars, signed and numbered steel dust cover 543, outer case 46mm.Working when catalogued but not guaranteed for accuracy, lacking bow, gilt on case worn, dust cover unhallmarked silver, small piece of tortoiseshell missing by thumb piece, cracked at 6pm, overall pretty good condition.

Erected in 1896 to replace the much smaller chapel in Scosthrop, the chapel closed at the end of 2007 and is now a nursery.
