After George Dawe, RA, British 1781-1829- Portrait of Tsar Alexander I of Russia, bust-length; enamel on metal, tondo, dia. 7 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: The present work is informed by Dawe's depiction of Tsar Alexander I (1777-1825), of which various versions exist, including one which is now in the Royal Collection [RCIN 400098]. Dawe worked for Alexander I in St Petersburg between 1818 and 1828, in which time he produced 336 portraits of those responsible for the defeat of Napoleon (1769-1821).

AN ENAMEL BROOCH COMMEMORATING THE LAYING DOWN OF THE KEEL FOR H.M.S. KING GEORGE V. An unmarked gilt metal and enamel pendant 'H.M.S. King George 1911' in blue against white enamel, in the form of a lifebelt, with ring for suspension. 22 mm wide.The previous lot commemorates the laying down of the Keel of H.M.S. King George V, the first of the Dreadnaught battleships, at Portsmouth Yard by The Hon. Lady Curzon-Howe on the 16th January 1911'. It seems likely that this pendant was a gift to Lady Curzon Howe to further mark the event. See the previous lot for a pendant relating to the same occasion. *CR Good condition.
A CAVALRY OFFICERS FULL DRESS HELMET PLATE AND CHIN STRAP. 1902-1952. A Full Dress Household Cavalry Officer's Helmet Plate with King's Crown with red enameled centre within blue garter surround, against an eight-pointed star, against a frosted gilt centre and Order of the Garter collar and oak leaves. with four folding fixing points to the reverse. 19 x 17 cm. With a chin strap on rose mounts, 53 cm, and Sandhurst Military Academy cap badge. This badge and chin strap belonged to Major Bill Stringer of the Household Cavalry who joined as a Trooper as an alternative to becoming a 'Bevan Boy'. Rising to the rank of Major, on his retirement his colleagues mounted a leather-bound waste paper basket with the badge on one side, the chin strap as the handle. A gift to the collector from the family of Major William Stringer of the Household Cavalry. *CR Good condition with only light rubbing, enamel to middle slightly off-centre.
