Midland Railway enamel sign MIDLAND RAILWAY THEES BUCKETS MUST BE KEPT FULL OF CLEAN WATER, AND USED ONLY IN CASE OF FIRE. Etc. DERBY. JAN. 1909. BY ORDER. Measures 11in x 6in, marked at the bottom Protector Enamel Eccles. In very good condition with a couple of small repairs to the bottom screw holes.
London & North Western Railway 8in mahogany cased railway clock with a wire driven English fusee movement. Th original dial is lightly restored and lettered L & N.W.R. JNo WALKER 77 CORNHILL & 230 REGENT ST LONDON. The case is in original condition with the LNWR enamel numberplate 2975 secured to the right hand side. It still retains its original bezel. A rare clock in working condition complete with pendulum and key. A letter from Dr D.R. Parr confirms that this clock was recorded in the 1960's LM clock census as being in use at Tamworth goods office.
An Art Nouveau Belt Buckle, by Lalique, as a female face within an oxydized pierced quatrefoil frame as billowing hair, with a blue enamel headband, measures 7cm by 7.5cm see illustration This buckle was featured on Antiques Road Show at Castle Howard, 22nd April 2018. Our client was gifted this buckle in the 1960s by her husband's great aunt and wore it during her nursing career . The buckle is in good condition, there is minor wear to the dark blue enamel and general softening and wear to detail. The mask does not align fully with the frame. It is stamped 'LALIQUE' to both sections. The central mask slots into the frame as the clasp. It is not hallmarked or stamped, valued as gold and silver. Gross weight 78.6 grams. Condition Report made 11th September 2018.
