An officer’s full dress uniform of the 3rd (Prince of Wales’s) Dragoon Guards, comprising: helmet with ear to ear laurel wreath, oak wreath at back up to top mount and spike, velvet backed chinchain and ear rosettes, black over red hair plume with gilt rosette, cut star helmet plate bearing POW’s feathers within pierced Garter and motto on red and blue enamel, leather lining; scarlet tunic with white facings, gilt lace and braid Austrian knots to cuffs, trim to skirts, shoulder cords with 2 rank stars, and collar with embroidered Prince of Wales’s feathers collar badges, gilt regimental buttons; regimental gilt lace shoulder belt, the gilt and silver plated buckle, tip and slide incorporating POW’s feathers, black leather pouch with embroidered top and silver flap hallmarked B&P Birmingham 1882; regimental lace waistbelt with gilt and silver plate bearing crowned VR cypher and motto; mounted on a dummy. Features mid-brown wood grip, remains of lacquer, which fits the white-frosted cross guards correctly, retaining both eagle and roundel, both of which sit firmly in the grip. The very good condition RZM - M7/12 marked blade measures 22 cm and is etched with the motto “Alles für Deutschland” (All for Germany) being very good in detail. Some light age spots, otherwise light wear. Black enamel finish scabbard, retaining the leather hanger to suspension ring.
Nickel-plated hilt fittings show only light surface age on pommel and cross guard with excellent detail to the Red Cross emblem on the obverse langet. Black bakelite grip plates in good condition with only one small chip to the back plate. Double-sawtooth blade is in good condition, with only light age to blade. Ricasso marked, “GES. GESCHÜTZT” and retains black leather buffer pad. Dent-free, steel scabbard retains approximately 90% of the black enamel showing age scratches & crazing.

Ricasso marked, “GES. GESCHÜTZT” and retains black leather buffer pad. Dent-free, steel scabbard retains approximately 70% of the black enamel showing age scratches & crazing.
Chequered composite grips, one side showing enamel & gilt R.L.B. badge, with nickel-plated doves head pommel and fittings. Very fine condition 25 cm long blade, with buffer pad. Carl Eickhorn of Solingen marked. Retains good black enamel scabbard retaining 70% finish and remains/damaged leather frog.
The steel skull is forged in two halves, joined at the edge of the high comb. On both sides there is an embossed Fleur de Lys, left blank like the high comb, showing remains of faded enamel to both sides. For the attachment of the lining there are iron rivets surrounded by brass ornaments, still showing a leather tab for chinstrap. No liner, generally heavily toned to interior. Scarce.

All-brass ornate backstrap, P-shaped guard, crossed cannon langet & lion’s head pommel, retaining both ruby-set stone eyes. Fish skin grip with full wire & leather & bullion portepee knot. The 81 cm long slightly curved, piped backed blade shows excellent plated nickel finish, with maker-engraved panel in scroll ‘Eisenhauer’. Black enamelled scabbard retains its single suspension ring, with wear to enamel, mainly to lower portion. Overall length: 98 cm.
