A Japanese Meiji period shibayama inlaid ivory tusk vase decorated in gold lacquer, mother-of-pearl and abalone to depict a peacock and cranes amidst flowering foliage, the ivory 9.5" high, fixed to lacquered wood plinth with gold decoration and standing on rectangular lacquered wood stand similarly decorated, overall height 17" - three inlaid flowerheads missing.
