A George III satinwood bowfront dressing table in the manner of John Cobb, circa 1770, serpentine top with rounded front corners, serpentine sides, crossbanding, boxwood and ebony stringing, containing a central drawer over a kneehole decorated with marquetry drapes and flowers and two hinged rear compartments to top, ivory knob handles to drawer, flanked on each side by a small drawer and a deep drawer with floral marquetry, on cabriole legs, 80cm high, 99cm wide, 55cm deep. The form of this dressing table bears relation to those in the French taste seen in Thomas Chippendale’s Gentleman and Cabinet Maker’s Director, third edition, pl. 72. A Doulton Burslem jug, late 19th Century, the spherical body gilt and enamelled with poppies beneath the pink glazed spout and handle, brown printed factory mark to base with painted inscription `GW707` (minor nick to spout), together with a Royal Worcester ivory glazed stack of four posy pots with gilt detail (some restoration).
