A Japanese Shin Shinto Wakizashi, the 38.5cm unsigned blade with undulating hamon, two piece polished horn habaki, the ivory tsuba carved as a flattened chrysanthemum head and incised with undulating tendrils, the Japanese Rosewood tsuka with ivory kashira carved as a maiden and the fuchi carved with mons and tendrils, with matching Japanese Rosewood saya with signed blade to the inset kozuka, the whole with shibyama type decoration of frog on a water lily, stylised turtles, seed pods and leaves in coloured hardstones and mother of pearl, with dragon carved ivory kurikata and maiden carved kojiri, with pale gold coloured cord and tassels, 56.5cm. Tang of blade is unsigned. Small areas of delamination and black patches with nicks to edge of blade. The saya is missing a piece of inlay to one side, the opposing side is missing the mount to the mouth of the slot for the kozuka. Lovely quality.
A Late 19th Century Japanese Ivory Tanto, the 18cm blade with almost horizontal hamon and one piece copper habaki, with scroll carved small ivory tsuba, the ivory tsuka and sectional ivory saya well carved with battle scenes, with red cord and tassels, 38.5cm. Areas of delamination to the blade, with some pitting. The saya is of three sections which have been later glued at the joins, the upper section has an age crack. Repaired at some time in its life.
An 18th Century Malacca Sword Stick, the 76.5cm triangular section fullered steel blade bearing traces of original bluing, with narrow foliate chased gilt metal collar, the compressed ivory cylindrical pommel with brass and ebony pique decoration and TH monogram, the plain tapering cylindrical haft with brass ferrule, 97cm . Pitting to blade. Fine splits to haft and pommel which also has a small chip.
An Early 20th Century Somali ''Billa'' Knife, with 21cm double edge thin broad steel blade, ivory hilt with facetted conical silver pommel, 40cm; an Ottoman Bichaq, with white metal earred grip and scabbard with zoomorphic pommel; a Bhutanese Knife, with panelled waisted horn grip, white metal pommell and scabbard embossed with animals and snakes (3). 1 - Black patching to blade, fine cracks to grip, lacks scabbard. 2 - Black patching to blade, silver coating to grip has worn away, splits to scabbard. 3 - Numerous file marks to the blade with some orange rust pitting. Dents to the pommel and scabbard.

Pitting to blades and some splits and dents to silver mounts. Ivory grip with numerous age cracks.

A 20th Century Attye Large Carved Wood Figure of a Woman, Ivory Coast, standing with four horned coiffure, the oval face with scarified decoration, on a tall ringed neck, the long torso with pointed breasts, protruding navel and further scarifications, one hand resting on her stomach, with shaped slightly bent legs, on a square plinth, 101cm. Nice brown patina. The left back shoulder has a fine split, with a further split to the plinth between her feet.

Four postcard albums (pictured), a number of loose cards (see photo) and a quantity of cigarette cards. The postcard albums contain approximately 320 cards (see the other photos for typical examples of some of the pages) and there are around 140 loose cards ' with a number World War One related, including military art, patriotic and comic, with some artist-signed cards by Fred Spurgin, Mabel Lucie Attwell, Agnes Richardson, Donald McGill, Harold Fenshaw and T Gilson. There are also printed naval and other military, comic, and the topographical cards including a handful from Portsmouth and Petersfield. We've picked out what we consider to be the best cards from the 'loose' bundle, which also includes a booklet containing cards from the Abidjan area of the Ivory Coast, Africa. The condition of the postcards, both loose and in the albums, is very mixed - from very good to average, as one would expect from cards of this age. As well as two tins of cigarette cards, there are some small albums ' the Coronation of King George and Queen Elizabeth (incomplete) and motor cars, wild flowers and birds and their young (all complete).
A Chinese Canton carved reticulated ivory box and cover, 19th century, of cylindrical form and worked with a continuous scene of figures in a forest village, 11.5cm high, together with a carved ivory shell diorama, 19th century, modelled as an open clam shell with miniature scene of figures in a village to the inside, 9cm wide. A Royal Worcester chinoiserie enamel vase, decorated with pagodas and tree against the ivory ground and with date code for 1910. Height 23 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The vase is free from any repairs or restoration. There is minor rubbing to the gilding on the top lip. When viewed under a loupe the glaze is all over finely crazed. To the bottom edge of the front panel there is a full width, slightly angled hairline crack. This is slightly browned in colour.
