A selection of 19th century and later purses, vestas, compacts and card cases, to include a tortoiseshell and mother of pearl card case, 10.3cm x 8cm, a George V silver vesta case, 4.4cm x 3.7cm, a further George V silver vesta case, 5cm x 5cm, a Victorian tortoiseshell and silver inlaid purse, 8.5cm x 5.7cm, a silver coloured blue enamel and red paste set compact, 8.6cm x 6.3cm, an ivory and silver coloured coin purse, 7.3cm x 5.8cm, and a mother-of-pearl, silver coloured and red leather coin purse, 7.7cm 6cm (7)CR: Small silver vesta: No splitting, thinning or repair. Moderate scratching and wear, some small dents. All decoration and lettering is crisp and clear. Cover does not sit flush.Large silver vesta: No splitting, thinning, denting or repair. Moderate scratching and wear. All decoration and lettering is crisp and clear. Cover sits flush and closes with a snap.Card case: Poor condition. Heavy losses to the mother of pearl. Heavy scratching and wear to the Tortoishell. Cover is slightly stuck and does not open easily. Cover is wobbly.Ivory coin purse: Very poor condition. Hinge is broken, lining is torn. Extensive repair required.Tortoishell purse: Poor condition. Catch is in working order, but Tortoishell exterior is heavily worn and lining in heavily split. Repair required.Mother of pearl purse: Fair. Exterior in good order, mother of pearl in tact, leather is fair order and metal framework in good order. lining to interior heavily damaged.Compact: Overall fair. Moderate loss to the enamel, large dent to the base, some denting to the sides. Cover opens and closes securely. Heavy wear to the powder puff and interior. Mirror in tact.
