A Victorian J W Allen Gladstone bag style black leather travelling dressing set case, the hinged top opening to reveal a crimson fitted interior, the base containing seven silver topped faceted glass vanity bottles to one side, all by Thomas Whitehouse, assayed London 1885, one of these containing an ivory handled toothbrush marked "Allen, Strand", the other side containing a pair ivory clothes brushes, an ivory hairbrush, a leather sewing wallet gilt tooled "Allen Maker" and details, and leather card case, the lid interior containing ivory and steel combined shoe horn and button hook, ivory glove stretchers and others, case interior rim gilt tooled and with "J.W.Allen Maker, 37 Strand, London", the bag exterior with fitted side pockets, one containing an Allen Maker black leather writing wallet, a Berrys Patent leather covered travelling inkwell and matching leather covered vesta. Height 29cm x length 41.5cm x width approx. 26cm.

A Victorian three piece silver tea service, by Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall, assayed London 1887, in the neo-classical style, comprising tea pot, twin handled sugar bowl and milk jug, of of gently tapering ovoid form, with all over bright cut decoration (oval reserves left blank), the tea pot with hinged cover and scroll handle with ivory collars, the sugar and milk jug with gilt washed interiors. A substantial Swedish matched three piece silver coffee service, in the Rococo taste, comprising coffee pot, twin handled sugar bowl and milk jug, the coffee pot and milk jug by C Hammer, impressed Swedish hallmarks for Stockholm 1857, the twin handled sugar bowl by C G Hallberg, impressed Swedish hallmarks for 1914, all of gently tapering circular form with bright cut waisted side, integral applied base rim and out swept pedestal feet and double scroll handle/s, the coffee pot with domed hinged cover with flower and leaf finial, handle with ivory collars and swan neck spout, the milk jug and sugar bowl with gilt washed interiors, (1561.2g/50.2Toz.). Persian Silk "Tree of Life" Rug, signed. Beautiful silk rug with ivory interior with red boarder. Intricately woven with birds and deer surrounded by flowered trees. Signed in bottom margin. The tree of knowledge, connecting heaven and the underworld, and the tree of life, connecting all forms of creation, are both forms of the world tree or cosmic tree. According to some scholars, the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, portrayed in various religions and philosophies, are the same tree. Size: 62 x 42 in. (5'2" x 3'6") Size does not include fringe.
Near pair of late 18th century Royal Worcester ivory ground flasks with stoppers, each decorated with gilt foliate handles, duck and owl, shape no. 931, W8, 19cm high.CONDITION REPORT: One lid has the finial off, but present. There is no hairline crack under where the finial once was. The owl flask is in good condition overall, there are tiny imperfections to the foot.The bird/duck flask has areas of gilding flaked off to the left handle, neck and foot. Overall, in good, presentable condition.
