A Large Early 20th Century Chinese Ivory Carving: in the shape of the head of Guanyin wearing earrings. The tall crown decorated with the triad of Buddha Amitabha and accompanied by the Bodhisattva Guanyin and the Bodhisattva Mahasthamaprapta, all with flaming haloes behind their heads and amidst clouds. Supported by a wooden base in the shape of shoulders H 32cm CONDITION REPORT: In good condition, no restoration or repair. Minor nibbles to headress but structurally sound, good detailing to hair section within crown. Hardwood base clean, dry and high lacquer finish.
A Georgian Remembrance Ring: in an unhallmarked gold mount,the navette shaped ring with a monochrome painting of a man next to an urn with the inscription "we shall meet never to part" CONDITION REPORT: Size O, ring structurally sound, no re-welding or repairs, closed back with rubover mount to glass, no scratches or damage or loose movement, legible writing to monochrome panel. Possibly on ivory/ivorine panel.

Note the ivory floral and meandering vine main border; the indigo field with interesting green lanceolate type leaves and boteh motifs. A most attractive rug. Together with a a Hamadan 'boteh' rug, north west Persia, about 1930s, 6ft. 3in. x 4ft. 7in. 1.91m. x 1.40m. Overall moth damage with a burn mark lower end of field and losses to lower end. (2)
Attractive Khamseh carpet, Fars, south west Persia, early 20th century, 10ft. x 7ft. 1in. 3.05m. x 2.16m. Overall wear and moth damage; some creases in places. A carpet with excellent variety of colour including a pale blue and a pale green; note the many interesting features, particularly shrubs in the field and the small animals in the ivory frame to the field.
Good Yomut Turkmen kepse gul main carpet, Turkmenistan, second half 19th century, 10ft. 8in. x 6ft. 6in. 3.25m. x 1.98m. Overall wear; some reweaves and repiling in places; slight old moth damage. Note the ivory stylized 'boat-type' border, the top elem of erre design and the lower elem of large so-called 'double-headed eagle' motifs. Note also the use of yellow and various shades of pale blue to dark green throughout.
Yomut Turkmen dyrnak gul main carpet, Turkmenistan, late 19th/early 20th century, 10ft. 10in. x 5ft. 11in. 3.30m. x 1.80m. Note the ivory ovadan motif main border; the double-headed 'eagle' motif elems and the tiny random motifs of flowerheads, bird's feet and various other assorted small motifs in the field. 'Bite' to lower right side; small holes; losses to top kelim end.

Some wear and small damages.
Caucasian rug of Lesghi star design, probably Lesghistan, east Caucasus, late 19th/early 20th century, 4ft. 10in. x 3ft. 1in. 1.47m. x 0.94m. Overall even wear; numerous re-weaves including both ends. Note the deep gold ground woven with two and a half 'star' motifs surrounded by a plethora of filler ornaments, and the so-called 'crab' design ivory border. This group is discussed at length in Bennett, Ian. op. cit., pp. 326-328; pls. 433-441. The 'crab' border does not appear on any of the illustrated rugs, nor does the border appear on any of the rugs illustrated in Schurmann, U. Caucasian Rugs, pp. 128-133.
