A collection of various carved ivory and bone items to include apple corer, counters, thimbles, seal, Chinese floral carved parasol handle, numbered counters, etc CONDITION REPORTS All pieces appear to be 19th Century - a couple perhaps early 20th Century. All items bear various small scratches, marks, scuffs, etc. Various general signs of wear and tear, chips, etc conducive with age and use.
A Japanese Meiji Period carved ivory articulated dragon, the legs with stylised flames, the head with inlaid eyes, movable jaw and tongue, 85 cm long CONDITION REPORTS Most pieces present but a few have detached including legs and feet. Some small spine spikes are missing. Articulation works but is very stiff and some sections which do not bend fully might need attention. Various general signs of wear and tear, light scratching and scuffs throughout. In need of restoration.
A late 19th Century Meiji Period Japanese carved ivory-handled ebony walking cane, the handle decorated with multiple grimacing and smiling faces or "Noh" masks, signed, 90 cm long CONDITION REPORTS Cane itself in reasonable condition though with areas of wear and discolouration and scratching - see images. conical tip very dented conducive with age and use. Handle with various cracks along the grain, particularly horizontally above the signature, and several cracks verso above the carved symbol. Further cracks further along the handle towards the end, various areas of discolouration particularly to the ends. Ferule with wear, discolouration and denting conducive with age and is also loose fitting.
A George III mahogany and marquetry inlaid dome top three section tea caddy, the dome top cross banded in ebony and box wood strung with central marquetry inlaid conch shell, the front marquetry inlaid with two conch shells set within a green stained oval, the top opening to reveal marquetry, cross-banding inlay to the lid interior and three mahogany and cross-banded lids with turned ivory handles, the whole raised on moulded brass paw feet, 24.75 cm x 17.5 cm CONDITION REPORTS Has several knocks and bumps and blemishes to the exterior, some crazing to the varnish and paintwork. Hinges look to be replacements, foil is missing to some of the interior and loose in other sections. The internal lids are a little bit sticky. The whole box has a look of restoration about it, although sympathetically done. General wear and tear conducive with age and use. Feet appear to be slightly uneven and there is a slight rocking - see images for further details. No key is present.
A set of 19th Century Chinese carved ivory gaming pieces, each decorated with figures by trees, 15 white and 15 red-stained with a spare similar red-stained piece, together with two matching shakers, one white and one red CONDITION REPORTS Diameter of the pots at the largest point approx 37 mm x 7 cm long. Diameter of counters approx 29 mm. All pieces with various scratches, scuffs, marks, etc conducive with age, use and wear. There are 16 red counters and 15 white counters. All items with various general signs of wear and tear.
A 19th Century rhino horn pointer of tapering form, the handle as carved ivory hand clasping leaf, 43 cm long, 22.7g total weight CONDITION REPORTS There are some dents and wear to the tip and some areas of dirt, spotting, dents etc conducive with age and use. The finial at the end is a possible replacement due to to the fact there is a carved space between that and the beginning of the stick. The finial itself has a chunk missing from the end. Generally dirty. Approx 2 cm in circumference at the top of the stick and 1 cm at the base. Has general wear and tear conducive with age and use - see images for more details
A George III burr walnut marquetry and parquetry inlaid tea caddy of rectangular form, the hinged lidded top with turned brass knob handle and set with marquetry fan paterae flanked with herringbone inlay to the edges, cross-banded in satinwood, the front set with a mahogany oval disc within mahogany and boxwood stringing and satinwood oval inlaid discs to the sides, with oval ivory escutcheon, 12.25 cm x 11.75 cm
A 19th Century Japanese Meiji Period carved ivory pot and cover, the cover decorated with prowling tiger with seated tiger finial, the main body decorated with three various tigers with two carved and stained beetle symbols to the base and a similar carving to the underside of the cover, 15 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Basically sound condition. Seated tiger finial to top loose and removable. Top with cracking - see image. Peg mark to top with carved and stained insect to the underside to disguise peg. Several small cracks to the bottom edge. Base with two carved and stained insect motifs, one to hide two peg marks, one insect partially covered with old paper label - see images for further information
A 19th Century Chinese carved ivory koro, the cover as a rockery flower, the main body decorated with panels of dragons flanked by carved handles with rings, raised on three grotesque mask and claw feet, signed in oval panel to base, raised on a fitted hardwood and wire inlaid circular stand, 22 cm high overall CONDITION REPORTS Is very white to the outside but yellow in. Very much in need of a clean and dust etc. Has various losses throughout. There is a large crack to the centre of the base. The handles appear to have been let in and subsequent marks around the joins. General wear, discolouration, surface scratches etc throughout whole piece. There is some sticky residue to areas. The base has general wear and tear, some crazing to the varnish etc conducive with age and use - see images for further details
An early 19th Century Napoleonic French prisoner of war wood and bone watch stand as a cabinet with all over pierced and carved penwork decoration, the upper section with door, the base with single drawer raised on bracket feet, 17.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Has losses throughout and in need of a good clean. Has varying splits to the ivory and some sections have bee repaired especially to the middle decoration of the right hand of the drawer. There is a glue-like residue of creamy colouring or possibly paint to the top left hand side section and the same on the right hand side and there is also some to the rim of the watch hole. Door opens, signs of worm - unknown if current or not. Heavy wear and tear - see photos for more details

CONDITION REPORT: Both carved from one piece of ivory. Figure: age cracks particularly to reverse. Tiny chip off back of leaf carved by the child. Daikoku: some age cracks running from base, unpegged from base peg at back has damaged ivory, chip, small.
Bag containing various oriental items, a Chinese ivory box, bronze spade coin and two others, four mother-of-pearl counters and two Japanese carved ivory cigarette holders. CONDITION REPORT: Cigarette holders good if slightly dirty. Three fish and disc good, if dirty, one disc has tiny frit. Coins very worn. Money - good patina but worn. Box & cover - dirty but fairly good condition.

Blade is reglued to handle, piece of carved ivory is missing from the base rockery area. Crack to the left leg at trouser which hs been re-glued, crack to the other angle and tip of the pagoda missing
