A 19th Century vizagapatam ivory sarcophagus shaped work box in the manner of Shedashboodoo, pen work decorated with bands of flowers and foliage, the hinged lid enclosing a compartment to the underside and fitted compartmentalised interior within a lift-out tray, raised on reeded bun feet, 26 cm wide x 19 cm deep x 17 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Overall with wear, stains, dirt and splitting. Numerous pieces have separated from the top, seven of the segments are present and have been placed inside the box, however, there are some segments belonging to the top which are missing completely. Various chips and losses. Glue remnants. Screws to lid / hinges appear to be replacements. The small hinged compartment to the interior of the lid has handle missing, interior of this compartment has sides and lining separating and warping. Please see photos for examples of condition.

An Edwardian crocodile skin covered travelling case with fitted interior to include ivory handled brushes, shoe horns, cut throat razors, silver topped glass bottles, silver topped inkwell, a silver and gilt pot with gilt-washed interior and integral funnel, etc, (mostly by George Henry James & Co, London, 1907), 63.5 cm x 20 cm CONDITION REPORTS Exterior of the case with some marks, scratches, crocodile skin becoming loose in places. Tatty to the corners, especially worn to the corners. Losing its shape slightly. Various impressed marks, scratches, scuffs etc throughout. To the interior the crocodile skin is becoming loose, tatty, scuffed, ripped, etc, especially around the edges. The attachments which hold the razor sharpener in place is loose and does not fit properly. Steel bladed implements are becoming rusty. Various scratches and scuffs. Some pot lids are loose and one glass pot is missing. Small scratches, small dents etc. Some of the fittings holding the pots and boxes in place are becoming loose, ripped etc and require attention. General signs of wear and tear through use evident throughout.
A mid 20th Century amboyna and ivory inlaid games compendium, the lid opening to reveal a fitted interior comprising a carved ivory chess set, one side natural, the other stained red, ivory dominoes, ivory draughts, one side natural, the other stained red, two leather games boards, one for chess, the other for backgammon, together with assorted cards and contact bridge score card, dated "Revised November 1932" to back, height of King 6.8 cm, height of Pawn 3.5 cm, box 38.5 cm x 28.5 cm CONDITION REPORTS Various losses, scratches, damage to the veneer to the box, especially to the top. Interior looks to be complete with a full complement of card packs, however, is not unknown if all cards are present. Two dice. 15 white and 15 red draughts pieces. It appears to be a full complement of dominoes. All with general small light scratches, general wear and tear, but overall good.
A 19th Century ivory bound three draw brass-lined telescope, inscribed "G. Adams London" to barrel, housed in a red Morroco leather case, 4.4 cm closed, 8.6 cm extended x 4 cm diameter at the largest end CONDITION REPORTS The case is extremely scuffed and worn. The telescope end ring of ivory is cracked, the telescope makes a rattling sound when moved. Lenses appear clear. General wear and tear to include dirt, and light surface scratches.
A 19th Century Japanese Meiji Period carved ivory netsuke in the form of seven various No masks, including one of an animal, signed to back, approx 4 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Overall with some yellowing and browning. Some dirt and scuffs. A few hairline cracks / inclusions. The right side of the animal mask has been fillered and repaired.
A 19th Century coromandel and brass bound vanity case by Jenner and Knewstub, the lid opening to reveal a fitted interior comprising various silver mounted cut glass dressing table bottles (Brownett & Rose, London, 1860), each with engraved top initialled "NH", together with various other dressing table accoutrements to include thimble, scissors, button hook, measure, etc by Brookes & Crookes, together with various ivory handled mirrors and brushes, glove stretchers, shoe horns, etc, some inscribed Jenner & Knewstub, and a vanity mirror and a bottom drawer opening to reveal brass labels inside, one inscribed "Jenner & Knewstub Manufacturers to The Queen, 33 St. James's Street, London" and another inscribed "J Bramah 124 Piccadilly", housed in a leather carrying case initialled "HN" to top CONDITION REPORTS Case excluding cover - approx 26.3cm x 20.5cm x 37.5cm. Handles are very stiff, when open the mirror is difficult to remove and has come off its back board, although is present. Hand mirror has a disintegrating mirror plate, stained and marked. Dressing table bottles - there are three that should have stoppers, but one stopper is stuck, another is missing, and the other is severely chipped, these three bottles also have some chips to bases and fritting all over. The two cylindrical bottles are in similar condition. The other boxes have general wear. The dressing table items - one is broken, and another item is missing, one set of scissors has a small crack to handle. General wear to the gilding. Some rust marks to steel. One hairbrush handle is badly cracked and another brush handle is cracking at ends. There is some loss to the inking of the engraving initials. One shoe horn and brush do not match, and the additional glove stretchers are cracked and are not initialled. Some of the leather interior is ripped and one board is loose. Generally whole case is a bit stiff and has wear and tear, but generally in good condition. The brass inlay at the bottom of the secret drawer is coming away in both parts and rubbing along the top of the secret drawer. The outer cover has wear, especially to the edges and the leather straps are broken, there is a paper label on it, various creasing. The velvet is faded and marked to interior.
A 19th Century carved ivory bowl in the form of a log raised on three carved feet, the bowl containing various carved ivory and other gourds and fruit, etc, bowl approx 5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS At one point most of the fruit would have been attached to the box but now is not. Some glue and breaks to various pieces of the fruit, some splits to the ivory. Condition as a result is poor in places. Bowl is yellowed in places, some scratches, marks etc. General wear and tear throughout.
A Chinese black lacquered and gilt decorated counter box decorated with pagodas in a landscape, opening to reveal an interior fitted with three further similar boxes, each containing various mother of pearl counters (approx 240), approx 23.5 cm long x 19.5 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS The large box - various small scratches, cracking to the Chinoiserie decoration, general small signs of wear and tear throughout. The three interior boxes are in generally better condition, with small signs of wear and tear, scratches, etc. There are 23 fish counters, four significantly broken fish counters. There are 64 long rectangular shaped counters. There are 64 smaller rectangular counters. There are 10 thick rectangular counters. There are 20 thin rectangular counters. There are 25 thick circular counters. There are 31 thin disc counters. There are 3 shaped circular counters. There are 16 shaped rectangular counters. There are 7 ivory disc counters. Some counters with small losses, small breaks.

A 19th Century Japanese Meiji Period carved ivory netsuke in the form of a bearded gentleman seated by a floral decorated screen with two oni peering from behind the screen, the back decorated with a four-toed dragon, signed to base, approx 4.1 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Overall general wear and scuffs. One of the horns to the figure to the top of the screen is broken off and missing. Overall quite yellowed and browned and quite a lot of dirt. Some small hairline cracks to the ivory visible to the underside and the edges of the screen. Some chips to the toes of the figure to the side of the screen.
A Japanese black lacquered inro decorated as a cage containing three birds, the base of the case decorated with two three-toed dragons, raised on red cabriole legs, the inro made up of four sections and a lid, the cord set with a carved ivory ball, the inro approx 7.2 cm high CONDITION REPORTS The ivory ball has a large cracks and some yellowing and discolouration. The lacquered inro itself has some light wear and scuffs and one of the sections is slightly stiff. Some rubbing and wear to the lips to interior where sections have been opened and closed. Some dirt and deposits to interiors. Bears a label to interior which is partially stuck down and bears script. There is an area of damage to the exterior to one side and sections of the raised beaded laquered edges are missing in this area, and an area of the giltwork beside it is missing and is currently plain black (please see photos), some of the blue/green decoration around this area is also missing.
Japanese lacquered inro with ojime and netsuke, 19th century, the inro of five sections decorated on the dark ground with foliage in gilt and red speckles and abalone shell, height 8cm, together with a red ivory ojime and ivory kagamibuta netsuke, the patinated disc applied with trailing foliage (losses), diameter 38mm, Condition report: the inro is missing some flakes of gold speckling and has some signs of abrasion from use; the copper disc in the netsuke has a vacant hole and is missing a spray of foliage. Gross weight 57.4g.
