A Chinese biscuit brushpot, late 19th/20th century, of cylindrical form, finely `pencilled' in black with a dragon amongst cloud scrolls above breaking waves, painted six character Xuande mark, 12.5cm.high; also a Chinese cloisonné `dragon bowl', 20cm. diameter; and a Canton ivory `dragon' napkin ring.
A Russian Tula work ivory box, circa 1800, cut-steel and two-colour gold borders around a verre eglomise cover and glass base, 6 cm. diameter CONDITION REPORT: Good condition, some brown staining to ivory inside sides, there are 3 tiny leaves missing from gold upper border of tiny leaf motifs around base. No cracks to ivory but shrinkage has caused cover to sit loosely over rim of base

Fine quality 18th century portrait miniature of a noble gentleman in powdered wig, wearing a blue coat, in oval glazed gold frame with pendant fitting, 47mm x 41mm, in a Victorian leather case CONDITION REPORT Very good condition Very fine quality. Painting in good clean condition. There is loose dirt underneath the glass around the edge. The frame would appear to be gold but has not been tested by us although there is a small file mark on the side indicating that it may have been tested in the past. No signs of any base metal showing through, very small dent to the back. The panel might be enamel rather than painted on ivory

Pair of late 19th century Japanese ivory and shibyama bezique markers of typical form, inlaid with birds, insects and flowering boughs, 9cm wide CONDITION REPORT Ivory cover of one marker is detached. All inlaid elements appear to be present, one marker is missing ivory dowels to one end and has minor splits to ends. Ivory colour is slightly inconsistent
Fine early 19th century ladies' gold, ivory and tortoiseshell sewing necessaire, the box of rectangular form, with quarter-panelled blond tortoiseshell veneer and ivory stringing, the rising lid enclosing a mirror and velvet-lined divisions with gold fittings, including finger shield, thimble, two silk winders, tape measure, scissors, penknife, bodkin, needle case, pencil and ivory and gold piqué work inlaid pot, 16.6cm wide x 11.6cm deep x 4.7cm high CONDITION REPORT Case is rich colour, with minor scratches / wear, but basically good condition, top yawns slightly, right hand hinge requires fixing. Slight deterioration to paper surrounding mirror to reverse of lid, ivory interior present, slightly warped and silk lining with some wear but generally good. Majority of the fittings with difficult to discern but Continental marks, thimble is marked and probably associated, silk winders are not a pair, one has maker's mark GV (?) - possibly associated, slightly less well fitting. Slight loss to one point of scissors, bodkin slightly misshapen, overall generally good order
Late 19th / early 20th century Japanese Meiji period carved ivory netsuke depicting figures availing themselves of the contents of an enormous Saki jar, two character mark to the base, 4cm high CONDITION REPORT No indication of any specific losses or major splits, some deterioration to base centrally as shown in photographs, may be associated with the ivory used, discolouration to rear/underside, surface dirt and grime

Small loss to surrounding ivory frieze. Interior with splits to ivory, overall a little worn, bun feet may be replaced. Generally some wear, deterioration commensurate with age

Late 19th / early 20th century Japanese carved ivory okimono of a scholar, in seated pose, studying a scroll, signature panel to underside CONDITION REPORT Total height 7cm. The bowl before the scholar has a central hole - unclear if there is a missing element, projecting dowels to both sides of the figure, left hand dowel finishes abruptly - possibly a missing element here, dowel has been re-glued - slight associated splits and some splits to rear of figure, overall discolouration
Collection of Oriental ivories to include a substantial Chinese carved puzzle ball, 9cm diameter, a Tokyo School type okimono of two wood-cutters, Japanese carving of a sage, Indian easel framed mirror, carved and pierced paper knife and various Indian figural and animal groups CONDITION REPORT Puzzle ball appears to have at least 10 layers, however, there is some damage to the outer layers, outer layer is ok. The damaged second and third layers make counting the layers difficult. Other items - easel mirror has break to the base, splits and deterioration to frame. Ivory figual group of woodcutter has been broken and glued at the figures ankles. Large standing figure has loss to the staff elsewhere minor damage, slight losses
