A box containing assorted sundry medallions and watch keys, etc, together with an early 20th Century carved ivory figure of a lion carrying a dead child CONDITION REPORTS All items have wear and tear. The toy is very playworn, the coins are worn, the figure of the lion is cracked and missing its back leg and in need of a clean.
A box of various binoculars and cameras including a pair of French ivory covered opera glasses CONDITION REPORTS Binoculars are Binocular Prismatic No.3 Mk I x 6, No'd. 54739 W. Watson & Sons Limited London 1917. These have wear to the eye pieces and the lacquer work is rubbing to show the brass coming through. Another pair are Krombach Wetzlar Porrolux 12 x 50, stamped "Made in West Germany", No'd. 187899 to base. There is some red dis-olouration to the engraved names. The paint work is peeling in some areas. The French ivory covered opera glasses are inscribed "L'Ingenieur Chevallier Opticien" and "Place de Pont Neuf 15 Paris" and engraved "Junelle" and "Inventee L. Jing Centree Par Chevallier". The opera glasses are split to the sides and are split on the brass ware on one lens. All lenses are dirty and in need of a good clean. All cases are worn conducive with age and use. The cameras consist of a Kodak 8 movie camera, a Canon Canonet, a Werra Mat, a Canon EOS 500, a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye. All cameras have general wear and tear conducive with age and use to include surface scratching, dirt, minor knocks and chips, etc. It is not known if they are in working order or not, nor whether they are complete. An Art Deco silver three piece tea set, by E Viner, Sheffield 1938, 1115g, the teapot having ivory handle and knob. Condition Report: Overall condition good, no visible signs of damage or repair seen. However, there is overall surface scratching and tarnishing. The jug has a dent to the body and the ivory has stress cracks. Marks clear.

1st-3rd century AD. A gold ring with rounded shank tapering to the bottom; the bezel narrow and set with a red glass intaglio depicting Jupiter (Zeus) wearing wreath. Property of an Essex gentleman; previously acquired on the London art market prior to 1980. The bust is that of the famous gold and ivory statue created by the Greek sculptor Phidias in 435 BC for for the temple of Zeus at Olympia. This statue would go on to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and was considered to be Phidias' best work. The statue was forty feet high and represented Zeus seated on a elaborate throne and holding a figure of Nike, goddess of Victory. The statue was revered across all of the ancient world and was moved to Constantinople where it decorated the palace of Lausus, eventually to be destroyed during riots in the fifth century AD. 3.31 grams, 23.79mm overall, 18.24mm internal diameter (approximate size British Q, USA 8, Europe 57 3/4, Japan 16) (1"). Very fine condition.
