The miniature painted on Ivory depicting a gentleman in a blue coat with gold bordering, white waistcoat, and a white stock. His hair powdered and worn en queue. Engraved verso S Shelly 1785. The miniature mounted in a converted locket clasp and presented on velvet plaque. Signed SS. Mount measures approx 5cm including bale. Portrait measures approx 36mm x 28mm. A collection of four GPO bakelite rotary telephones.Condition Report: The ivory coloured telephone is generally in good condition with very slight wear and perhaps a very slight hair line crack near the ear piece of the receiver and some dirt to the inside of the mouth piece of the receiver. The telephone with chrome cradle with some discolouration, surface dulling, scuffs and scratches throughout and wear around the base. Other two phones with general light wear, perhaps a little heavier around the base of the telephone without the base drawer. From a private vendor. The phones appear good and may have been restored.

Pair of Royal Worcester blush ivory basket weave vases, with trailing foliate decoration, nr 1037, approx 20 cms. Condition ReportIn our opinion, these are in good condition. There is some light rubbing to the gilding on the leaves and upper rim of both. There are no signs of any damage, cracks or restoration when examined under UV light.

A substantial Royal Worcester twin handled blush ivory urn, nr 1398, neoclassical in style with upright scroll handles with fabric drapes, dated code 1889, the body painted with sprays of pansy, iris, daffodil and forget-me-not, with gilded instrumental motif, the shoulders and square plinth moulded with grotesque horned mask, approx 44 cms h. Condition Report In our opinion, overall the urn is in very good condition, only slight rubbing to the gilt on mouth and foot. The noses on the masks at the foot are rubbed. We have inspected the urn under UV light - no signs of damage, cracks, chips or restoration.

The Georgian coffee pot having a circular pedestal foot rising to gadrooned border with repoussé decoration to the body with cartouche to each side with one cartouche being vacant and the other having an etched fish scale pattern. The handle capped with acanthus leaf decoration and having an ivory (see footnote) insulator. Hallmarked for London 1787. Makers mark HC for Henry Chawner. Weight approx 1014.8g. A 20th century copy of a Victorian 1831 pattern, General Officer’s Marmaluke sword by Thurkle. Steel blade with brass proof disk inset near the ricasso (this with letter T, indicating manufacture by Thurkle).The blade is etched to both sides, with one side having the VR monogram, crown and Royal crest, and the other having the crossed sword and baton, scrolls and floral motifs.The curved grip is made in 2 section of composite material, made to mimic ivory, with brass floral rivets, and fish scale patterned backpiece.The gilt brass cross guard is of traditional form, with crossed sword and baton inset motif, and scroll patterns.The langets are elongated over the ricasso, partly obscuring the proof disc.The cross guard terminates in a ball finial to each end.The sword is complete with its brass scabbard, with two suspension rings, plus a later corded sword knot attached to the grip area.Approximately 99cm total length.Condition: generally very good.The blade retains a good polished finish, and appears to have never been service sharpened (keen point to the tip).The scabbard is free from dents, and just has some light scratching and contact marks commensurate with age and use.The composite grips remain intact, but side of the grip has a small fracture next to one of the rivets, but it remains solidly in place.
A M1950 Polish Naval Officers Dagger. Off white / ivory coloured grip, with brass pommel displaying the Polish national eagle. Gilt brass cross guard with opposing quillon, and one having the usual hole through it. Gilt brass throat with fouled anchor motif, central suspension ring mount, and chape, all set over a black leather scabbard. Polished steel blade, with serial number ‘16283’ stamped to the ricasso area. No apparent makers marks. Approximately 37.8cm length in scabbard, blade length 23.3cm. Condition: very good. The whole piece show very little wear and tear. Just normal signs of handling and very light use, with no spits, or dents to the metal fittings or leather parts. The release catch works as it should.
A vintage Post WW2, East German NVA army officers dagger, complete with scabbard. Ivory coloured and contoured plastic grips, with chromed pebbled pommel. Chromed cross guard with acorn quillon and integral release catch for the blade. Original leather washer fitted at the ricasso, and the serial number 72169 stamped into the blade. Double edged blade with single fuller, in polished steel. Black scabbard with chromed chape and throat, the latter with oak leaf and GDR symbol. 2 suspension rings fitted to the throat mounting. Condition: very good. The piece shows little to no use, with the grip and all metal parts free from damage. The release catch also works as it should.

E. FRODSHAM, 31 Gracechurch St., London 6506 across the centre and DOWN/UP power reserve dial to upper section, with gold/gilt spade hands and secured by a screw-down bezel into a lacquered brass bowl with shuttered winding hole to underside, mounted via gimbals into a brass-bound rosewood three-tier box with shaped brass vacant plate to the brass corner-capped top tier over second tier with glazed panel to interior, inset ivory panel engraved G. E. Frodsham, 31 Gracechurch Street, London to front and brass reinforcements to angles, the bottom tier with conforming reinforcements, hinged brass side handles and ivory disc numbered 6506 to front.The box 18cm (7ins) square, 19.5cm (7.75ins) high. George Edward Frodsham was born in 1831 and succeeded John Frodsham - first working as Frodsham, Son and Company in 1849, then in the Partnership of Frodsham and Baker the following year. George Frodsham then worked alone from 31 Gracechurch Street, London from 1864; the business became G. E. Frodsham and Company in 1882 and then a Limited Company in 1888. The following year (1889) the business advertised as being clockmakers to the Queen, Prince of Wales, The Royal Observatory and The Lords of the Admiralty and continued under George Edward Frodsham until 1901 when he presumably retired; he died two years later. Please note Dreweatts have an ivory exemption license for this lot BLQCKTTE Condition Report: Movement is complete, appears all-original and is in working condition; the mechanism is a little dull/tarnished hence would benefit from a gentle clean. The dial has overall very light streaky oxidation and the minute hand is a replacement. The bowl and gimbals are complete and are in sound original condition and retains old lacquer finish albeit with wear and oxidation to extremities/edges. The glass has a couple of light surface scratches. The case is in very good condition with the only notable issue being a break across the corner of the rectangular ivory name plate fitted to the front. Other faults are very much limited to very minor bumps and wear and oxidation to the brass fittings.Timepiece has a replacement typsy winding key but no case key. Condition Report Disclaimer
Y A BIEDERMEIER VIENNA MAHOGANY 'DACHLUHR' WALL TIMEPIECE OF ONE MONTH DURATION,UNSIGNED, VIENNA, CIRCA 1840 The four pillar single-weight driven movement with five-wheel train and deadbeat escapement incorporating fine-beat adjustment to crutch regulated by long 'gridiron' rod pendulum with large diameter brass-faced lenticular bob, the 7.5 inch circular frosted glass Roman numeral dial with blued steel moon hands within fine engine-milled brass bezel, the movement and dial fitted to the case via seatboard sliding into a pair of brackets applied to the ivory-line bordered flame veneered backboard, the exterior with triangular pediment incorporating giltwood egg-and-dart insert to tympanum over ivory line-edged canted cornice and full-height rectangular glazed front door applied with giltwood Ionic capitals and bases to the slender ivory edged uprights, the sides with narrow glazed apertures, the base with canted chin moulding over inverted ivory-line panel inlaid and edged cavetto-shaped base terminating with a conforming demi-lune pendant. 127cm (50ins) high, 37cm (14.5ins) wide, 15cm (6ins) deep.Please note Dreweatts have an ivory exemption license for this lot 2U2SH62R Condition Report: The movement is in fine original working condition with no visible evidence of any alteration or noticeable replacements. Although essentially in working order the mechanism is a little oxidised and over lubricated hence a gentle clean/service is advised. The dial is in very good condition - the numerals and minute track are very well drawn but may have been re-done at some point. The tone fades a little and there is a slight smudge to the IIII numeral. The frosted glass panel has a small very feint shadow at the apex above XII suggesting the rear of the plate has a shallow edge chip to the rear at this point. The seatboard appears original and the brackets applied tom the backboard appear undisturbed. The case is generally in very good condition with notable faults limited to noticeable filling following historic veneer shrinkage cracks to the inside surface of the backboard and to the lower surface beneath the pendulum bob. The gilding has some retouching where it has flaked in the past and the ivory stringing has some replacements that appear to be made from a substitute material, however there are no apparent losses. Other faults are very much limited to minor shrinkage a few light age-related blemishes.Timepiece is complete with pendulum in fine good condition (with no apparent dents to the surface of the bob), weight (also dent free) and a crank winder.
