A fine embroidered black wool gentleman's court tailcoat, French, 1800 - 1820, the back with curved side and straight centre seam, high stand collar the front cut away short and high with angular rear tails, embroidered to shape in neo-classical style with silver purl thread and sequins, the tails with faux pocket flap motifs, half lined in ivory silk, with silvered fleur de lys and crown buttons, chest approx 92cm, 36in CONDITION REPORT: Costumier's stamp to lining 'Elde Rue Bonaparte'. Metal threads have tarnished - embroidery is superb. Wear to lining at edge where it meets the collar. Slight wear to lining at armhole and centre back waist. Scattering of mainly small moth holes. Generally overall appearance is impressive and good.
A brilliant Chinese-yellow silk damask satin petticoat/skirt panel and remains of bodice, possibly the remains of a mantua, first half 18th century, the wide closed front 'skirt', woven with large flowering plants in repeat, lined in ivory wool, the hem edged in yellow cord, with two original pocket slits - the waistband removed, lined in ivory challis; together with a pieced panel with what appear to be rear bodice pleats and fabric joins to create reverse fold-overs pleats, and a piece third panel - possibly part of a train, the 'skirt' or petticoat 109 high by 160cm diam, the 'train' section approx 116 by 100cm (3) CONDITION REPORT: The original V folds at the waist are intact. There is black soiling to one side of the front right pocket slit - could clean out though - surface dirt. The upper rear edge of the 'skirt' above the waist has been cut but it suggest that it could have been a closed-robe with an integral 'sack' . Thebodic e fragment is joined so that the front and back of the fabric are next to one another - suggesting fold-overs. Fabric is lustrous and strongly coloured, slight moth damage to the challis lining
A pale blue quilted silk petticoat, second half 18th century, padded and quilted overall with scallops, with feature panel of central thistle and fruits, lined in ivory challis, 89cm high, 137cm diam CONDITION REPORT: Waist band has been altered in the 19th century, slight spot-staining here and there
An ivory damask satin wedding dress, late 1880s, with corsetted bodice, the skirt with asymmetric pleats, integral bum-roll; together with button-hook, bust 81cm, 32in, waist 56cm, 22in (3) CONDITION REPORT: Perspiration stains at underarms and splits in satin here, skirt has moth damage, primarily to interior hem wool lining and across top front of skirt. Bodice needs re-stitching along seam at left front, approx 7cm, minor. Lace collar/cuffs are slightly discoloured. Fabric generally is good, no apparent alterations.
A Givenchy couture shot chartreuse/ivory silk faille cocktail dress, circa 1955-7, labelled and numbered 1603, with strapless, corsetted bodice, full skirt and two broad rear sash-like panels forming a watteau back, one with opening at the waist for dancing, bust 81cm, 32in, waist 56cm, 22in CONDITION REPORT: No alterations. Silk has badly perished at the underarms and has disintegrated leaving bare patches that exposes the white flannel corset covering. Fabric could possibly be taken from some of the other double-layered areas of the dress to repair. Left side seam needs re-stitching in 2 places. Apart from the underarms the dress is clean and fresh. Silk is frayed at zip closure edge. Provenance: same owner as bridal gown, lot 106, June 14th 2016 auction.

A Norman Hartnell couture ivory satin cocktail dress, circa 1960, labelled, embroidered with large rose to front bodice, spangled with sequins, bell-shaped skirt with tulle petticoat, bust 97cm, 38in waist 66cm, 26in CONDITION REPORT: Hem has been raised approx 1in. Satin is frayed along bodice edge at underarms. A bit grubby, would benefit from cleaning. Soil marks to upper front edge of bodice particularly right breast area, faint brown mark at right waist to side of bow. Faint brown discolouration to rear bodice mainly on left side. Fatin brown mark to rear skirt below zip. Front of skirt - faint brown discolouration running from right hip pleat to hem. 2.5cm spot stain and another brown discolouration - very faint to side of this. Scattered freckle stains to hem and slight fraying to hem edge approx. 1cm. Seam under bow needs slightly re-stitching approx. 1x1cm.

The ivory satin panels to the front bodice are splitting, the interior of the bodice itself is good.

Lining is generally good, approx. 12 x 1cm holes. Overall good condition · Coronation train - velvet areas are generally good. Train has added velvet concealed under collar. Slight moth damage to fur at neck edge. Edging fur is moulting. Silk lining is quite perished around the edges.

Slight soiling to hem edge which would easily clean. Silk lining has large damp stains to skirt area and tears. Rear skirt has faint damp stain to hem area which is very visible on inside and very slightly visible on exterior - it is concealed within the back drape.

A Charles Frederick Worth blue silk faille bodice, circa 1885-90, woven signature label to waist stay, adorned with ivory tulle and silver wire embroidery and sequins, bust approx 81cm, 32in CONDITION REPORT: Wear to ivory tulle on upper right breast and neck edging areas, tulle backing to leaf motifs which edge the central 'stomacher' have eroded in places and some of the silver purl has lifted. Slight perspiration staining at one underarm. Exterior silk with speckling of rust spots to the front and faint brown discolouration around lacing holes down the back. Soiling on right side panel around the waist area. Inside - no alterations and taffeta lining is generally good. Lining to narrow sleeves has perspiration stains and perishing. Damp speckling to waist stays and a few small splits. Beaded edging is largely intact but the chiffon and tulle ground is worn and fragile. Damp speckles to rear pleated 'fichu' band.
