Claire Jeanne Roberte Colinet, (French, 1880-1950), The Magic Links, an Art Deco bronze figure, circa 1925, the gilt bronze dancer with a series of rings, signed in the cast and foundry mark to reverse, mounted to an onyx base 37cm (14in) Literature: Illustrated: Art Deco and Other Figures, Bryan Catley 1978. p 112 Other Notes: Colinet was born in Brussels and moved to Paris around 1910. Her work is primarily of dancers, jugglers and cabaret artists. She preferred to work in bronze but also produced chryselephantine sculptures of bronze and ivory. She became one of the most well-known of Art Deco sculptors with the energy, movement, detail and style of her models. She was elected to the Société des Artistes Français and exhibited in the Salon from 1913.
*Oriental Ornaments. A collection of Chinese soapstone carvings, including a bird of prey perched on a naturalistic base, 12cm high, a blank seal with figural carving of Immortals, 16.5cm long, a Chinese sandalwood cribbage board, intricately carved with ivory panels, plus five miniature Chinese and Japanese bronze vases, some cast with an Imperial dragon, 9cm and smaller (12)

The Creation, Death of Abel, The Covenant (from Illustrations to the Bible), 1831-35, The Deluge, & Fall of Nineveh, 5 mezzotints on ivory wove paper, all proof impressions issued by John Martin (prior to the editions published by Charles Tilt in 1838 and 1839), with artist's address and dates March 21st 1831, September 19th 1831, May 1st 1835, and one undated (without letters), good, strong impressions with contrast, image size 192 x 291 mm (7.5 x 11.5 ins), plate size 265 x 355 mm (10.5 x 14 ins), sheet size 270 x 398 mm (10.6 x 15.4 ins), with margins (principally to left and right sides), a few marks, and stitching holes to lower edge Campbell-Wees 92, 96, 97, 98 & 111. An ormolu sewing clamp with pincushion, probably French, early 19th century, sewing clamp with circular blue velvet pincushion set into mount and supported by acanthus leaves, a little rubbed and velvet worn, length 12cm (4.75ins), together with two late 19th century turned rosewood sewing clamps, both with spindle reel, one with a cup top, the other with a finial, length 14.5cm (5.75ins) and 13.5cm (5.25ins) respectively, and another 19th century sewing clamp, ivory, with pincushion stitched to top, clamp with a couple of splits and fabric worn, length 9.5cm (3.75ins) (4)

A VERY FINE QUALITY SIGNED JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD IVORY OKIMONO OF SHOKI THE DEMON QUELLER, subduing an oni with his foot, his robes engraved and stained in fine detail with scrolling leafage and flowerheads, one foot with a finely engraved signature and red-stained seal mark, the base with an M Papier paper collection label, 8.4in high.
A FINE QUALITY SIGNED JAPANESE MEIJI PERIOD IVORY OKIMONO OF A FRUIT PICKER & HIS SON, together with a good quality carved and fitted hardwood stand, both looking down at a basket of fruit which the boy has dropped, the base with an engraved signature on a red lacquer reserve, 8in high overall on stand, the ivory itself 4.4in wide at widest point of base & 6.25in high.
