English School (late 19th Century) Portrait miniature of William Shakespeare (1564-1616), in a black jacket with white collar watercolour on ivory 5cm (2in) Condition in general is good. Some scratches to the frame. Dirt under the glass. A very small area of raised abrasion to the lower left area, next to the sitter's shoulder. Ivory support a little ill fitting in frame.

A Japanese Meiji period ivory card case of plain rectangular form with detachable lid, hand painted in gilt lacquer with ship amongst waves to one side and Mount Fiji to the other, 11 x 7.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: General condition is very good, some areas of minor staining and the lid is slightly stiff. Some minor scratches throughout commensurate with age and two splits to the base. A mahogany tool chest by Wm Brookes & Son, with original green label to interior of lid "Gentlemen's Tool Chest", this being set no.2 with contents and various further items including early rule, 19th century ivory rule by Buck & Hickman, horn handled set, spirit level etc. Provenance: formerly the property of Master James Watts of Abney Hall, Cheadle, (as engraved on the brass cartouche) and passed via the former butler of Abney Hall, Johnson, who was the neighbour of the current vendor.

CONDITION REPORT: Areas which require restoration and replacing such as the ivory detail particularly around the velvet lined writing top and two larger areas of the pen work decorated floral motifs underneath the lid. Also there are two larger areas where the porcupine quill is missing (to the back and to one side).

An Irish George III hallmarked silver teapot of rounded rectangular form with part gadrooned embossed decoration, wooden handle and ivory finial, James Le Bas, Dublin 1813, length 29cm, approx 22.6ozt. CONDITION REPORT: The finial is stained and has a couple of hairline cracks, the lid slightly rises where it hits the main body of the teapot and it shows a small dent, the main body of the teapot is tarnished and has some surface scratches and a dew small dents commensurate with age throughout. Hallmarks are clear to the base. This has been in storage for approx 20 years.

A late 19th century carved sectional ivory and rosewood crucifix, 35 x 19cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are several hairline splits to the ivory along the body. There is a nail missing at his feet. A section of arms are slightly detached from the main body, wear commensurate with age. Cross is in general good condition.

CONDITION REPORT: Teapot: unsightly mark underneath spout. Handle loose. Coffee pot: old soldering repair around spout. Bowl: repair to one handle. General wear throughout. A late 19th century carved sectional ivory and walnut veneered crucifix, 35 x 18.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: An area of loss to the walnut veneer to the top, one of the arms of the cross is slightly detached from the main part, commensurate with age. The crown has a loss to the front and a split to the ivory long the body.
Major Reginald Augustus Wymer - 91st Highlanders - A Presentation .41in Rim Fire Colt No.3 Derringer Pocket Pistol of standard production specification the nickel plated frame (rubbed) inscribed ‘R. Wymer - 91st Highlanders’ with a 6.5cm swing-out barrel and polished ivory grip plates to bird head butt, 12cm Reginald Augustus Wymer (1849-1935) was a military painter. He was commissioned in the 34th Foot Regiment in 1867; transferred to the 91st Highlanders in 1870; made a Captain in the 2nd (Militia) Battalion of the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders; and retired as a Major in 1905. His works were collected by Queen Victoria, the Prince of Wales (later Edward VII) and Queen Mary, who visited Fortnum and Mason’s on 28 May 1932 ‘to see charming pictures by Major Wymer’
