A Japanese Meiji period carved ivory okimono modelled as a geisha on oval stand, the base inset with red plaque bearing two character mark, height 20.5cm.Additional InformationThis piece is elephant ivory, there are splits to the ivory running up the back, one of them approx 8cm, further smaller examples and several to the front, the figure is quite white in finish, signed to a red tableau to the base, otherwise appears ok.
Two Japanese Meiji period carved ivory okimonos, the first modelled as boy on man's shoulders, both holding bamboo pole, the second modelled as man holding fruit in basket leaning on rock, height of each approx 12.5cm, both on associated hardwood stands (2). Additional InformationOne of the figures is elephant ivory, the second is marine ivory, there are natural splits to the figures, the staff of the double figure group has been crudely repaired and damaged to the top, also chips to the fingers, damaged to the raised parts and surface wear, there is a split to the base of the marine ivory piece which is quite unsightly.
