A mixed lot comprising a George V hallmarked silver circular waisted pin cushion, Henry Matthews, Birmingham 1911, diameter 11.5cm, a silver collared ivory and steel shoe horn/button hook, an Italian 925 silver fronted oval photograph frame and a three piece electroplated dressing table set.

A small quantity of collectors' items comprising a wool floral decoration under a glass dome, two miniature porcelain vignettes of landscapes, possibly Italian, framed and glazed, a miniature portrait on ivory in piano key frame (af), and a playing card box and matchbox cover in matching gilt heightened monochrome floral pattern (6). CONDITION REPORT: The wallflowers are slightly faded, the miniature figural painting has a crack down the middle.
A late 19th century 'Mandarin Hundred Faces' fan with black lacquer and gilt guards and sticks decorated with figures, the sticks forming a scene of figures in a cartouche, with a shaped loop and tassel, the mount painted with courtly figures in buildings to both sides, one side including horses and riders, within a painted border to both sides, the figures having ivory faces and silk clothing, guard length 28cm, width approx 52cm. CONDITION REPORT: The fan is in remarkably good condition with no damage to the guard and sticks, the painted mount has some crease wear especially to the edges but is also in good condition and all the faces to be present.
Five teddy bears comprising a limited edition Merrythought mohair 'Ivory Bear IV201' with glass orange and black eyes, stitched nose and mouth and white velvet pads, with certificate of authenticity and signed by Oliver Holmes and one other to right foot, a blonde mohair example in light navy and blue sailor's uniform and scarf, a brown mohair musical jointed bear with clockwork mechanism (in working order) and two further unmarked jointed bears, the smaller with hand stitched jester's bell collar, the longest 49cm (5). CONDITION REPORT: Merrythought bear appears to be good condition with minor surface dirt and to mohair and pads, the bear in sailors uniform with dye discolouration and losses to mohair, the Jester collar example also losses to mohair and deterioration to pads.
An early 19th century circular rosewood snuff box, the lid set with an ivory roundel inscribed 'Lancaster Castle' and depicting a portion of the castle, diameter 9.5cm, and an early 19th century papier-mâché circular snuff box depicting a bearded man counting money from a miser's purse, diameter 10.5cm (2).
An early 20th century floral embroidered and mirrored cosmetics purse, 20 x 14cm, a further similar smaller beaded example, two fans with bone guards, a dip pen with figural finial, a French ivory covered and silver detailed card case and an oval enamel patch box inscribed 'The gift is small but love is all' (af) (7).
DEMETRE CHIPARUS (1886-1947); a 1920s ivory, gilt and cold painted bronze figure of girl in cape and hat with muff, signed to the back of the green onyx base, total height 21cm. CONDITION REPORT: General condition tends to be good apart from areas of wear and rubbing to the paint throughout, one major scratch to the back rubbing to the gilt particularly to the ribbon on top of the hat, minor surface dirt to the ivory head, some nibbles to the edges of the onyx base.
A Royal Worcester blush ivory potpourri pot and cover of rounded rectangular form, the gilt heightened pierced cover above plain body with puce printed marks numbered 1314, height 13.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Chips to the rim of the lid, minor rubbing to the gilding, the body of the pot is slightly dirty otherwise ok.
A 19th century burr walnut games box, the hinged lid centred with an oval vacant brass cartouche enclosing compartmentalised interior with draughts (two pieces missing), an ebonised and ivory cribbage board, ebony and bone dominoes, a leather covered dice shaker, etc, with a drawer to the front containing playing cards, etc, 33.5 x 19 x 15.5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Areas of losses to ebonised edges, some splits to the veneer (major one to the top), general surface wear, minor scratches and dints commensurate with age, tarnish to brass fittings, etc. Postage to UK mainland will approximately be £18.00 + vat.
A Japanese ivory netsuke carved as an elephant standing four square and mounted with a throne style chair within which sits a youth dressed in Chinese costume and holding a uchiway style fan, five other youths stand around the elephants legs playing musical instruments, on oval base signed in elaborate cartouches Chikuyosai Tomochika and tensho seal reading Tomochika. Late Edo. Height 6cm.Another elephant and children subject by Tomochika is illustrated in George Lazarnick's "Netsuke and Inro Artists and How to Read Their Signatures." page 1149 Condition report: No condition issues.
