Natural cracks throughout the ivory which are stained through time. A couple of minute chips to the thorns, otherwise OK. We are unable to ship this item outside of the UK.

A Japanese Meiji period miniature Satsuma squat bottle vase, with finely hand painted and gilt heightened butterfly decoration,, bearing painted Shimazu family crest to base, height 3.5cm, and further predominantly Meiji period examples to include a larger bottle vase bearing two character mark to base, a pair of double gourd vases and a baluster vase, also a quartz token and a miniature ivory panel set in hardwood stand (10).Additional InformationThe majority of pieces with surface wear, losses and crazing, the larger bottle vase has been broken and crudely restored, chip to quartz seal, the stand of the ivory panel has an area of loss, and panel does not sit entirely flush within it.

HUNGETSU; a good 19th century Japanese carved ivory netsuke of Rakkan seated with a shishi, signed to base, height 3.7cm, width 4.5cm.Additional InformationNatural staining to the ivory, the tip of the left claw on the left foot of the shishi is missing but this is being ultra critical. Overall a well carved and good example.
A good and large Japanese Meiji period carved ivory netsuke modelled as a group of figures, signed to red rectangular plaque to the base, height 6cm, width 7cm.Provenance: the property of a Worcestershire gentleman.Additional InformationSome natural colour change to the ivory commensurate with age, a 3mm hairline crack running through one of the base holes but overall an excellent example.
An 18th century Japanese carved ivory netsuke of Sennin holding a bundle over his shoulder, height 10.7cm.Additional InformationThe feet have been restored just above the ankle they have been broken and new feet have been applied. Otherwise, natural staining, natural cracks in the ivory but no damage as such.
