Gabrielle Gaveau: A Rosewood Cased 4'6'' Baby Grand Piano, 2nd quarter 20th century, the frame stamped 4706, the legs numbered 1261, the quarter-veneered and crossbanded case on square fluted tapering legs with brass capped toes and castorsThe case has some variations in colour, small small sections of veneer missing, mainly around the cross-banding, the opposing side i.e. the rear of the piano has some colour loss, further losses to the veneer on the hinged lid, three of the ebonised keys are sticking, the ivory keys are slightly yellowed with one of the ivory key front section missing, sound board appears to be okay.

Ball 1: some flea bite chips to the external ball, the remainder appear ok, the stand with ingrained dirt and some flea bite chips to the rim but no other apparent issues. Ball 2: one crack to external ball, several internal balls with damage, stand repaired at the bowl. Ball 3: some cracks to the internal balls, the external ball with some minor chips, the stand with age related small cracks, overall age related staining, slightly skewed on base. Ball 4: some internal balls cracked/broken, the external ball with noticeable losses, the stand with a chip to the trunk of and elephant support, another elephant support lacking one tusk, with age related staining throughout
