An ebony mounted brass sextant bearing ivorine plaque inscribed "Mrs Janet Taylor 104 Minories London improved 816" and with ivorine rule housed in a mahogany case CONDITION REPORTS Case with various scratches, scuffs, marks, chips, dents dark marks etc throughout. Probably with replaced locking mechanism. Some compartments in the interior are empty. The sextant itself - one lens appears to have damage and is yellowed/cloudy. the ivory is stained. Various general signs of wear and tear throughout. There is a hole at the bottom of the carry handle - see images. A collection of five mother of pearl mounted silver bladed pen knives, together with two further pen knives with ivory handles and a walnut mounted pen knife CONDITION REPORTS All blades with scratches and signs of wear. Some with small losses - most blunted. some tips snapped, one pen knife with loss of blade - see images. Some blades are very loose when opened and most require attention. Various general signs of wear and tear throughout.
A 19th century continental mahogany bureau cabinet, the top with cushioned pediment above a arrangement of drawers to include 7 secret drawers and single mirrored door to middle above a full front above two short and two long drawers with bracket feet and turned ivory handles and reeded column detail throughout
An early Victorian satinwood shaving mirror, circular and with turned stand. Diameter 20 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The mirror plate itself is a little perished in areas. This should be visible from the image. There are two stress fractures across the circular frame. The mirror swivels as it should in the cradle. The right hand circular bone or ivory moulding is missing. The mirror base is in good order with no condition issues. The back of the mirror is as it should be also.
An 18th century ivory and pique work cylindrical box, with silver coloured metal mounts, bearing label "Selected by The Victoria & Albert Museum for The Lamplugh Bequest". Diameter 98 mm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The top of the box is in very good condition. It is flat with no warping. There are no cracks and no areas of loss. The underside is in good order also. The lid fits the base snuggly. The base itself is in very good order with only one small scuff to the bottom edge of the base which is probably part of the ivory in any event. There are no cracks to the base.
A late Victorian mahogany satinwood and ivory inlaid elbow chair, raised on splayed front legs. CONDITION REPORT: The chair is structurally sound with no loose joints. There is no damage to the back and only very minor surface scratches and stress marks to the timber in other places. The only real issue with the piece is the upholstery to the seat which is very tired and dirty. There has also been a piece of hardboard fixed to the underside of the chair to support the upholstery webbing. This should be removed and the seat re-upholstered in our opinion.
An 18th century ivory box, with pique work to lid and painted with a portrait of a lady with fan to the underside edge of lid, oval. Length 90 mm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The box lid is in good order. There are no visible cracks or any losses. The top is slightly bowed across the narrow section. This may be deliberate. The top fits the base snuggly. The base does not appear to have any damage other than minor surface scratches. The portrait to the underside of the lid is in poor condition with significant paint loss.
An 18th century ivory box, painted with a repeating pattern in red enamel. Diameter 8.6 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The top of the box appears to be in generally good condition. There is some minor loss to the black line paintwork around the edge. There is a lip into which the top section of the box fits the frame. Approximately 60% of this lip appears to be missing. There is also one hairline crack running across the side elevation from top to bottom. This is visible but not open. The sides of the base are in good condition. The base again fits into a lip and some of this lip appears to be missing. There are no hairline cracks to the base. The lid fits the base well.
A William & Mary silver pique and ivory circular lidded box, circa 1690, bearing "Delehar" label to base. Diameter 75 mm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The boxed top is flat with no warping. The ivory is yellowed in places. There are no hairline cracks. The base of the piece is in generally very good condition with no damage. It is a little yellowed in places. The top and bottom fit well.
A large Japanese ivory figure group, circa 1900. Height 26 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The condition of the piece is generally good. There is a small loss to the rear of the bun of the child. There are no other losses that we can see. There are the usual old stress fractures in the ivory the most significant one being at the rear of the base. There is a character mark signature to the base.
A rare Georgian painted bone child's alphabet tablet, with original decoration and card from "Alistair Sampson Antiques Limited". Height 10 cm, width 4 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: We can see no evidence of any damage, repairs or restoration. There are some minor surface scratches to the paintwork and some discolouration to the ivory in places. There is a very small top edge nibble above the letter D but this is insignificant in our opinion. The back of the piece is a little stained and marked.

An Italian macassar ebony, fruitwood and ivory inlaid centre table, mid 19th century, in the manner of the Falcini brothers, the central reserve once inlaid with the 'dual of honour', within further medallions to the border depicting busts of Dante, Michelangelo, Tasso, Correggio, Petrarch, Raphael, Ariosto and Titian, on a carved and gilt painted pedestal base, some losses of inlay to the top 77 x 128cm (30 x 50in) Literature: Luigi (d. 1861) and Angiolo (d. 1850) Falcini were active in Florence during the first half of the 19th century and were celebrated for revitalising the art of marquetry inlay. They gained inspiration from the Dutch émigré cabinet makers employed by the Medici family, looking back in particular to well-regarded Leonardo van der Vinne (d.1713). The first octagonal table exhibited by the Falcini brothers at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence was purchased by Grand Duke Leopold II for his private collection. They exhibited at the Great Exhibition in London in 1851 to great acclaim. They specialised in the production of tables, most usually of octagonal form, using mother-of-pearl, ivory and stained fruitwoods to great effect.
