EARLY 20TH CENTURY SILVER PRESENTATION FOUR PIECE TEA SERVICE, by William Briggs & Co, Sheffield 1913, comprising teapot, water jug and gilded two handled sucrier and cream jug, the teapot and water jug having ivory finials, overall with geometric design and etched scroll floral and foliate decoration, standing on bun feet. Presented to Mr Edward Sherlock by his fellow workmen and friends on the occasion of his severing his connection with Old Lodge tin plate works Llanelly, March 1914. 67 troy ounces approx. (B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Overall in good condition, general wear, marks and scratches commensurate with age. One of the ivory finials is loose on the water jug. Hallmarks are crisp and clear. Gilding to the interior of sucrier and cream jug very good. No serious damage overall.
EARLY 20TH CENTURY CARVED IVORY TUSK FIGURE GROUP the tusk carved with fur branches and set with an orchestra of female musicians playing a variety of instruments. 52cm long approx. Japanese late Meiji.(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Overall in good condition, the tusk is cracked in places. The end figure has lost her (probably flute type) instrument, central figure (fourth from left) has lost three of the tuning keys to her mandolin type instrument. Otherwise good if rather grubby. Approximately 2.6Kg approximately.
LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY CHINESE EXPORT CANTON IVORY CONCENTRIC BALL FIGURAL CHESS SET, in stained red and natural white, all pieces in Chinese costume and standing on concentric ball pedestals with circular bases, king and queen as Mandarins with ceremonial staffs, the bishops as courtiers, the knights as mounted soldiers, rooks as castellated elephants and standing soldiers with spears and shields. Queen overall 18cm high. (32 pieces).(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Detailed condition report available on request but displaying some damage and losses, white king is broken from concentric ball base, various spears missing from white pawns and one white knight. Red pieces with similar problems.
19TH CENTURY WOODEN WALKING STICK having turned and moulded ivory handle with silver collar, hallmarked: London, 1886, unscrewing to reveal a useful corkscrew and having ivory tip with metal insert. Overall 94cm long.(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: General wear and marks commensurate with age and use, but no obvious damage, the collar in named: F. Hayward, and has wear and some dents and misshaping.
18TH CENTURY IVORY VENEERED, OCTAGONAL SECTION TEA CADDY, overall decorated with steel studded designs, and having painted portrait panel to the front, domed hinged cover with steel loop handle, tortoiseshell edges and finishings, and having interior loose cover. 12cm high approx. x 10cm wide x 7.5cm.(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Overall in good condition for age, some splits to ivory in places, but no obvious significant areas of loss. The plaque is painted on ivory and is similar to others we have seen. However evidence of glue or paint around edge. Lid is slightly 'sprung' and will not properly close (giving it a smile). Losses to tortoiseshell edging and interior lining but includes original inner cover. There is a key included.

Pair of Tabriz rugs, north west Persia, circa 1920s-30s, each 6ft. 5in. x 4ft. 6in. 1.96m. x 1.37m. Very slight wear in places; slight loss to lower ends. A striking pair of rugs with tree of life design rising from a large jardiniere at the base flanked by smaller flowering trees rising from white and pale blue hillocks; dark terracotta main field and ivory floral guards. Pale blue and white details. Rich palette and relatively soft handle. (2)
Qum silk 'boteh' rug with inscription, central Persia, second half 20th century, 4ft. 11in. x 3ft. 4in. 1.50m. x 1.02m. Leatherette strips to sides. Ivory field with rows of small dark blue floral boteh outlined in pale blue; terracotta boteh and floral main border; ivory and dark blue guards; the inner dark blue guard with inscription in a pale gold cartouche in the lower left corner. Very finely woven in a soft palette.
North west Persian runner, possibly Karaja area, circa 1930s-40s, 11ft. 6in. x 3ft. 5in. 3.50m. x 1.04m. Some wear in places with corrosion to dark brown; hole/tear to field top end. Terracotta field with diamond shape medallions within pale gold, terracotta and ivory lozenge and floral borders.
