An Indian silver three-piece teaset, unmarked except for an indistinct punch to teapot handle, probably Bombay, circa 1900, bellied oval with nicely-chased frieze depicting native lancers hunting lions, lions savaging cattle and antelope and men on foot and archers facing up to lions and hunting troupe of elephants, all on bun feet, the handles of milk jug and sugar bowl terminating in dragon heads and with gilt interiors, the teapot handle and spout terminating in an elephant head and capped by an ivory finial, handle with ivory insulators, teapot 26 cm. long, wt. 1395 gm.In very good condition, no bruises, good gauge, crisp chasing
A large Chinese carved ivory tripod censer of oval cylindrical form, carved in fine relief with multiple dragons and waves on two scalloped reserves on the lower section of the body, two arched handles each intaglio-carved with an archaic design and suspending loose rings, solid ivory cover with four finely-carved mask handles suspended loose rings below, top surmounted by a finely-pierced figural Foo dog and its offspring playing with the ball, interior painted with red lacquer and marked on the bottom of both body and cover “Qian Long Nian Zhi”, The censer further displayed on a fitted carved hardwood stand, late 19th century/early 20th century. 23 cm. high without stand, 26 cm, high with stand.
A pair of Chinese carved ivory figures of Qianlong emperor and empress, both in the form of seated figures. The Emperor is depicted in a robe and hat with finely carved dragon decoration, seated in a high relief dragon motif and paws footed chair, one hand holds his court beads with austere face. The empress is depicted in a robe and hat with finely carved phoenix decoration, seated in a high relief phoenix motif and paws footed chair, wearing court beads on the neck and hand holds a warmer bag with amiable face. Both with wood stands and marked “Qianlong” on the bottom of figures, late 19th century/early 20th century. In very good condition, 14cm high without stand.
